Twitter has expanded its Trends feature to more than 160 new locations worldwide. The popular micro-blogging site made the announcement via a blog post.

Twitter Trends are an easy way to find out what people are talking about on Twitter at that moment. Trends are available at various 'levels' - around the world, in your country, or in your city. By checking out Trends, you can find what's 'trending' - from breaking news to current hot topics that are most relevant to you. To find these new locations, click "Change" in the Trends sidebar on twitter.com, and select the city or country you're most interested in.

Twitter revealed that the countries of Belgium, Greece, Kenya, Norway, Poland, Portugal, and Ukraine will be getting Twitter Trends for the very first time. More than 130 new cities in countries that already have Trends have been added to the list as well.

Of course, an all-India Trends option is available as well.

The news comes on a day when Twitter has announced the acquisition of music streaming app We Are Hunted.

"There's no question that Twitter and music go well together," We Are Hunted said in a statement on its website announcing the acquisition. "Artists turn to Twitter first to connect with fans, and people share and discover new songs and albums every day."

Twitter did not comment on the acquisition beyond a tweet welcoming We Are Hunted to the company.
