HCL has launched HCL Me Connect 2.0 tablet for Rs. 8,499 as a successor to its existing Me Connect 2G tablet.

The 7-inch tablet sports a WVGA (800x480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor alongside 1GB RAM. The device comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA secondary camera. It comes with 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card slot. All this hardware is backed by a 3,800 mAh battery.

The tablet allows 2G connectivity with voice calling while 3G is supported through a USB dongle.

At this price point, HCL Me Connect 2G 2.0 will be competing with the likes of the iBall Slide 3G 7271 Tablet that comes with Android 4.0. On a comparative aspect, iBall Slide comes with a lesser 512GB RAM but a more powerful dual-core processor.

Earlier, HCL had launched three tablets in January (https://www.gadgets360.com/tablets/news/hcl-launches-three-android-tablets-starting-rs-5999-326816) namely HCL Me V1, HCL Me U2 and HCL Me Y3. Out of these, the HCL Me V1 also dubbed as HCL Me Connect 2G has the exactly same specifications as the new tablet barring the Jelly Bean. The HCL Me Connect 2G tablet is at present available in the market for Rs. 7,999. The 500 rupees hike between the two devices might be worth it if what you are looking for is a Jelly Bean experience.
