New rumours suggest that Microsoft might release a tablet optimised version of Microsoft Office for iPad, Android tablets this year. A source familiar with the matter told technology blog BGR that the full version of Office Suite for tablets is expected to be ready by November.

The source, who has also seen the tablet version live, termed it very similar to The Daily leak from February, although it was dubbed as fake by Microsoft. An Office version for iPhone is also plausible as according to BGR, the splash screen of the Office app for iPad stated Office for iOS, not just Office for iPad.

With the increasing popularity of tablets, there is a great demand for Office suits apps which are optimised for tablets and an official app from Microsoft would certainly be a welcome move.
