The report states that the new tablet will improve upon the original without changing the form-factor, which means we can expect a similar looking Kindle Fire with beefed up specifications.
Sources close to the development told the publication that current launch window is late Q3 and Amazon has already started approaching app developers to help them bring their apps in sync with the new hardware.
The next version of Kindle Fire will be thinner and lighter than the original and is likely to sport an improved display and camera. The upgraded display is likely to have 1280x800p resolution.
This is not the first time that we are hearing about the upgraded version of Kindle Fire, several other sources have also speculated about the same in the recent past.
On the other hand, Apple is also rumoured to be working on a smaller iPad, which will take on the upcoming Kindle Fire and Google's Nexus 7 tablet.
