NDMC Launches 24x7 Helpline for Complaint Redressal

Residents in areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council can now hope to get faster redress of their complaints about the services rendered by the civic body with NDMC launching a round-the-clock helpline.

"In order to facilitate the residents of New Delhi area for redressal of their complaints with regard to the services being rendered by NDMC a toll free telephone number - 1533 - has been launched by the council which will work round the clock," the civic body said.

"All complaints in connection with water, electricity, health, sanitation, sewerage, horticulture, water logging, broken roads, street lights maintenance, unauthorised construction and encroachment, among others, can be registered on this helpline and the concerned officers will resolve it as soon as possible," NDMC said in a statement.

The NDMC had recently commissioned a mobile application "NDMC 311" for the residents to avail all civic services at one stop.

"The application is getting good response and over 500 complaints of the residents of NDMC area have been sorted out and 5,000 residents have been connected with the high tech application," the statement said.

NDMC areas are home to the high and mighty of the city, housing bungalows of Union ministers and parliamentarians, many top industrialists, among others. Parliament House, buildings of all the ministries, Supreme Court, High Court and residences of Supreme Court judges, senior bureaucrats and senior military officers are in NDMC areas.
