  • The unlimited voice calling pack is priced starting at Rs. 149
  • Even Idea and Airtel have introduced similar packs
  • The Rs. 344 pack offers 1GB data to 4G users

Jumping onto the bandwagon, Vodafone has also launched two unlimited voice calling prepaid recharge packs, like Airtel and Idea. The new Vodafone unlimited voice calling packs are priced starting at Rs. 144, and they include data benefits as well.

The Rs. 144 - Rs. 149 Vodafone unlimited voice calling pack (varies in different regions) allows users to make unlimited voice calls within the Vodafone network in the country. Along with the unlimited calls, Vodafone users will get 50MB of data (300MB for 4G handset users) for 28 days, and free incoming calls on national roaming as well. Just like Airtel and Idea, the larger Rs. 344 - Rs. 349 Vodafone unlimited calling recharge pack offers unlimited voice calling to any network in the country, and 50MB of data (1GB for 4G handset users) for 28 days, apart from free incoming calls on national roaming.

Sandeep Kataria, Chief Commercial Officer at Vodafone India said in a statement, "With these unlimited calling plans, there will be no need to hold back. Our hundreds of million customers can remain confidently connected and enjoy talking to their loved ones worry free. Our 4G customers will further enjoy the additional benefit of up to free 1GB data along with unlimited calls."

These two new Vodafone unlimited calling recharge packs are in the same price vicinity, and offer more or less the same things as Idea and Airtel. Just to recap, the Airtel unlimited calling packs are priced starting at Rs. 145 and Rs. 345, while the Idea unlimited calling packs are priced at Rs. 148 and Rs. 348. Even Aircel has announced a new prepaid plan that makes voice calling free for three months.

All of this is to combat the competition from Reliance Jio, especially after the announcement of the Happy New Year Offer that extended its free calls, data, SMSs, and other benefits till March 31, 2017.
