Huawei launched its Talkband B2 wearable last year at the MWC 2015 conference and has now launched its successor, the Talkband B3. The fitness band was launched alongside the flagship smartphone Huawei P9 and P9 Plus at an event.

The band comes in three variants - Classic, Elite, and Active, priced at EUR 169 (roughly Rs. 12,800), EUR 199 (roughly Rs. 15,000), and EUR 249 (roughly Rs. 18,900) respectively. While the Classic version is available in Brown and Beige metal bands, the Elite and Active versions will come in Titanium Gray metal band, and Black or White rubber bands. The company is yet to announce the third-gen Talkband's availability details.

Like its predecessor, the Huawei Talkband B3 holds a Bluetooth earpiece, which doubles as the fitness band's touchscreen display. The earpiece too has received updates this time. The company says the device is more ergonomic than before and has a better chipset for better audio performance. The wearable fitness band is said to deliver louder audio by up to 25 percent than the Talkband B2. The wind noise cancellation has also been bumped up by 80 percent.

The Talkband B3 is IP57rated, which means it can resist dust and water up to a certain extent. It automatically detects activities such as cycling, running, sleeping, climbing and more. Smartphone notifications are also shown. As mentioned above, it houses a Bluetooth headset, which is said to be lightweight and water resistant. For reference, the Talkband B2 weighs 30 grams. The embedded display in the Bluetooth earpiece features a PMOLED display with 128x80 pixels resolution and is protected by a 3D-curved Gorilla Glass layer.

The Huawei Talkband B3 connects to Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth v4.2 through the Huawei Wear app. It houses 91mAh battery and is rated to run for 6 days when in standby mode, which interestingly is lower than what the company claimed for its Talkband B2 (12 days).
