OnePlus 3T smartphone goes official
OnePlus 3T, the mid-cycle upgrade to this year’s OnePlus 3 flagship smartphone, has been unveiled. The new OnePlus smartphone features improvements such as the faster Snapdragon 821 processor, 128GB storage option, 16-megapixel front camera, sapphire glass lens and phase-detection autofocus on the rear camera, grey colour option, and a 3400mAh battery. Compared to the $399 OnePlus 3 (official price Rs. 27,999 in India), the 64GB OnePlus 3T will cost $439 (roughly Rs. 30,000), whereas the 128GB variant has been priced at $479 (roughly Rs. 32,500); there is no word on the India launch or official price yet.

Google Search will help find an ATM near you
Amidst the ongoing cash crunch in India, Google has integrated a feature on its home page to help you find ATMs in your vicinity. Below the search box on google.co.in, you will now find the 'Find an ATM near you' link. Clicking this link will open Google Maps, which will use your location data to show you all the ATMs in your vicinity. The feature, available for both desktops and mobile devices, does not show if the ATM is able to dispense cash at the moment.

Apple MacBook Pro 2016 without Touch Bar now available in India
The MacBook Pro 2016 model sans Touch Bar is now available in India, with resellers across the country starting to receive stock of the laptop. MacBook Pro 2016 without the Touch Bar, which is priced at Rs. 1,29,900, comes with a 13.3-inch Retina display, 2GHz Intel sixth-generation Skylake Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB storage, and 3.5mm earphone jack.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Pinterest account hacked again
Mark Zuckerberg’s Pinterest account had reportedly been breached by OurMine, the same hacking collective that broke into his Twitter and Pinterest accounts in June this year. The hackers claimed to have had changed Zuckerberg's bio on the platform to, "Don't worry, we are just testing your security." However, the message was later removed and there are no screenshots of the temporary bio online. The group said that they used Pinterest exploits to break into the account, rather than information taken from leaked databases.

Samsung may sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in India
Samsung is reportedly planning to sell refurbished versions of its ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in emerging markets like India and Vietnam. The company has apparently not made a final decision on the matter yet; if it indeed goes ahead with the plan, the defunct Galaxy Note 7 will see a resurgence in 2017. In another bad news for Samsung though, a Galaxy S7 unit allegedly exploded spontaneously, causing second- and third-degree burns to the owner.

Snapchat parent company quietly files for IPO
Snap Inc, the parent of popular ephemeral app Snapchat, had quietly filed for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) before the November 8 election, and may become a publicly-traded entity as soon as March 2017. It is expected to be valued at approximately $20-25 billion, making it the biggest IPO since Alibaba’s $170.9 billion market debut in 2014. The company has filed for its IPO with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the US Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act.

Ola Credit postpaid service launched to ease cash crunch
Cab aggregator Ola has launched a new service called Ola Credit that will let corporate users and regular consumers pay for their rides on a weekly basis. Customers can choose Ola Credit as the payment mode while and become a user of the service within a week; the company will provide credit to users on select basis, depending upon their transaction history. Ola Credit users will be able to settle the bill via net banking, debit or credit cards through the integrated Ola Money e-wallet.

Lyf Wind 7i smartphone launched at Rs. 4,999
Reliance Digital has launched the VoLTE-enabled Lyf Wind 7i smartphone, an upgraded version of the Wind 7. It has a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) display, 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage, microSD card support up to 128GB, 5-megapixel front camera, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2250mAh battery.

Thousands of Android phones sent data to Chinese servers
Thousands of Android smartphones sold via major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy in the US have been sending user data to Chinese servers, a security firm has claimed. The reason behind the data transfer is said to be a Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) made by Shanghai Adups Technology that provides the update to several Android phones. The company said the firmware was meant for a Chinese manufacturer but was mistakenly pushed to other smartphones. Smartphone brand Blu, whose popular R1 HD smartphone is affected is among those affected, has pushed an update that will apparently fix the ‘potential security issue’.
