This week, Rammohan Sundaram, the Co-Founder of Velfie talks to us about his apps and gadgets. Velfie is a "video-selfie" application that allows you to record a short clip with the front camera and add audio clips or quotes - sort of like the popular Dubsmash app. Sundaram is a self-confessed Apple fan who dreams of someday having a robot that is as efficient as a human being. Read on to know more about the apps and gadgets that he can't live without.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Rammohan Sundaram: I am an Apple freak so everything around me is Apple except for my second phone, which is an Android-powered Samsung Galaxy S5 because of the business we are in, which is in the mobility space. So it is important to use at least one Android device.

Otherwise, I have a MacBook Pro laptop, iPad Air 2 tablet, and iPhone 6.

When you have an Apple gadget in your hands in some manner 24/ 7 you don't need a camera so these gadgets cover all of my needs.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Rammohan Sundaram: Velfie, LinkedIn, and Times of India.

These three cater to all my needs, Velfie for entertainment and vanity, LinkedIn for business, and ToI for information.

What is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Rammohan Sundaram: A power bank. No specific one, but I won't leave without one of my power banks. With so many gadgets consuming ones battery everyday it is impossible to think of me not having my power bank next to me to keep my key gadgets charged at all times. This is one of my most important gadgets, outside of my phone.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Rammohan Sundaram: I want everything to be connected, what I mean to say is it should be a multi-device approach in every angle. I want my refrigerator to be controlled by my phone, my TV content to be played on my iPad when on the move, and then picked up from where I left off, when I switch of the TV. This entire experience has to be seamless.

Imagine I am watching a program on my iPad and due to an important meeting I shut it down; however, I want to start watching from where I left on my TV when I get home. Then I switch off my TV and open my laptop to get a prompt to check if I want to watch from where I left off.

I also want my house to be fully secure and it happens through my phone when on the move, right from seeing a video if there is trespassing to getting alerts on any misadventure that happens in my absence.

Though some of the above is possible in bits and pieces, I want it to all work seamlessly. Beyond that, I dream of having a robot one day that will be as efficient as a human.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Rammohan Sundaram: Everything today is on my phone. I don't even carry a laptop anymore, presentations happen through the iPad and life is more than seamless at this stage because of technology. Right from not going to pay any bills to even stepping into a bank life has changed a lot since the time technology has taken over our lives.

I first stepped into the world of Internet in the late 90s and from then to now life has really changed for the good. I remember times when we used to wait to hear that shrieking sound on the modem to know if we are connected or not through a dial up device, but now with 4G imagine the power of the information highway in our hands.

From using apps for sales reports to tracking business to checking on your health while in the gym to listening to music, everything is now on your fingertips. Technology definitely has changed all aspects of my life.
