  • Players will get 'Catch Bonus' for catching Pokemon of specific type
  • Game updated for both Android and iOS
  • Evolution animation time reduced with the update

Pokemon Go has lost many of its active users in large numbers after its highly-successful launch in July. However, with the latest update to the app, Niantic seems to be trying to woo casual gamers into playing the augmented-reality game. With the update, the game now allows trainers to take six Pokemon for battle at friendly gyms and also provides a 'Catch Bonus' for catching Pokemon of a specific type - this, as detailed by the company last week, will make it easier to catch rare Pokemon.

The popular mobile game has been updated for both Android and iOS to versions 0.41.2 and 1.11.2 respectively. As per the changelog on company's website, Pokemon Go will now allow trainers to bring six Pokemon for their gym battles at friendly gyms. Further, the company says, "The CP of the Pokémon you are battling may be temporarily adjusted lower for your training session," in its note. These changes are likely introduced to give a better chance to the players who are new to the game.

The animation time for the evolution of Pokemon has also been reduced with the update. With this update, the egg and incubator screens will periodically update the distance walked without the requirement of closing and reopening the screen by the trainer. The company claims that the update solves several audio issues and minor bugs in the app.

Even though this update cannot be termed revolutionary, it does bring along some features that are likely to be appreciated by new players to the game.
