Practo, a health app that helps find doctors, expanded its offering on Tuesday by enabling consumers to find the closest diagnostic centres.

The Bengaluru-based company said the launch is part of Practo's strategy to become the single health destination for all consumers across curative, preventive, fitness and wellness segments.

The app will allow consumers to search by nature of medical tests instead of laboratory names, to check laboratory accreditation, filter results by location, home pickup and compare prices of services being offered by various diagnostic centres.

"This is the first of our upcoming launches to cover curative, fitness and well segments as we march towards achieving Practo's promise of being a consumer-friendly App," said Shashank ND, founder & CEO, Practo.

"Diagnostic search will provide great convenience and is a much simplified way of finding the right center to get your tests done. Never before have consumers been able to get such detailed information about labs instantly irrespective of their locations - whether exiting a clinic or from the comfort of their homes," he added.

The new product will be available in eight cities to begin with and will then expand to 35 cities in India and Practo's international markets in the coming months. The eight cities where the launch is taking place are Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Nashik, and Trivandrum.

The new feature will show information on 4,000 labs across eight cities, including the chains like Thyrocare, Suburban Diagnostics, SRL Labs, Metropolis and others.
