It seems like smartphone manufacturers are finally waking up to the fact that most smartphones are yet to receive the latest version of Google's mobile platform, that is, Android 7.0 Nougat. Apart from LG, which has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update on Tuesday to LG G5 users in South Korea, Samsung has seemingly rolled up its sleeves and will be providing an early taste of the Nougat update to select Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users from Wednesday.

Samsung has announced a beta programme to allow users to check out Android 7.0 Nougat on their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones before its official rollout. The beta program will be available for users from the US, UK, China, and South Korea from November 9.

In the US, carrier variants from Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile are also eligible to take part in the programme. In South Korea, the KT, SKTelecom, and LG U+ variants of the smartphones will be able to take part in it. Interestingly, the unlocked version of the smartphones in the US are not eligible to take part in the programme while the unlocked models from UK will be eligible for it.

The Batman Injustice Edition and Olympic Games Edition will both not be supported by this beta programme, according to a report by Android Police.

In order to apply for the beta programme, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users are required to download the 'Galaxy Beta Programme' from Galaxy Apps, and apply from the registration menu using your Samsung account credentials. Users need to then search manually for the system update. As it is a limited programme, not all who will apply will get in.
