I've finished deleting unwanted software on the Asus, and installing all my software and "stress testing" the laptop. I've owned many high-end laptops from Asus, MSI, Dell, Alienware, etc. and this, hands down, beats anything I've owned..........and with the specs it has I'd expect it to The screen image is fantastic. It's fast, quiet, and just a dream to use. I do a lot of photo editing and this handles everything better than any laptop I've owned!! It also has a Blu-ray player which many hi-end laptops have abandoned - this annoys me as I travel with my laptop and don't want to lug around an external DVD player. If you have the bucks -- go for it! The only negative I've found so far is it is BIG, and not light (bigger than my MSI Dragon and a pound or so heavier). I will have to get a new travel bag to accommodate it....but I'll gladly do that.

I received the 72 model instead of the 78, but this laptop is just as good as the top MSI gaming laptop. The G-sync really does a wonder for gaming. You will not be disappointed.

If you are not model year crazy to have latest video processor, then this one is a great choice with one grand less to pay.

Super awesome. Has met or exceeded all of my gaming needs thus far.

My previous game machine was still awesome but functional. This one kicked it in the teeth and took it's lunch money. Great value for money, great features, HUGE performance! What's not to love?

Great

Bought this laptop to take on the road for more then half the year. Ran most games on high~ultra and ran smoothly. The only problem is the size and weight, but that is to be expected. I used the case that it came with to carry the laptop around and later on bought a bookbag that could hold the laptop.

Being a ROG member for a long time now, this is probably the best of the best in the last 4 or 5 years. As described works as intended.

Love it! I've ran Overwatch, Battlefield, WoW and some lfd2 All on ultra settings and it handles beautifully. Battery life is very short, however I always carry my charger anyway so it's not really an issue.

So excited to see the price on this monster come down. Been on my wishlist for 10 months just biding my time. Ten months ago it was $2799. Patiently wait for inevitable new model and scored it for $1599, no tax, free shipping. This laptop has killer specs. Just plain brutish. Overkill for 99.9% of your possible activities, which makes it perfect. You want to mash the gas pedal to the floor to go over the hill or you want to sail over it on cruise control? The power is there when you need it. Non-gamers turn up their nose at 'gaming' laptops without realizing these are 10x the business laptop you will ever own. Eat my gibs Mr. Suit.

Excellent!!!

Hard drive was double in size as advertised. Instead of a 128 GB SSD the laptop had a 256 GB SSD installed. Everything is as stated. Excellent laptop. Keyboard lights up with a red backlight, hopefully ASUS one day will allow for other colours. Extremely quite system. The machine is massive. Be prepared for some heavy lifting. Buy it now while it is still available!

Great laptop but much bigger than previous versions of this laptop. The laptop is truly an amazing one, but is too large for a 17" laptop.

Great laptop. I have owned 2 other Asus laptops. Can play any new games on Ultra settings. I have stress tested this laptop, cpu and gpu won't go over 70C temp wise. The screen is bleeding light.

No touchscreen but its not a dealbreaker. Only buy this model if you know about computers. Total overkill if you don't game.I am satisfied with the performance however the 15.3 inch model with a GTX 1070 has a higher frame rate with a lot of games. However I don't think buying the 1070 model would have been an adequate return on investment for me personally.

Awesome machine with amazing graphics when it worked. It worked without a problem for 4 months. Warranty only lasted 2 months. Currently will not boot past BIOS splash screen. Will try to reach out to manufacturer for assistance and report back.Update on 5/3/2017. Problem seems to originate from the bios. If the PC is never allowed to sleep, there are no problems at all. If allowed to hibernate, intermittently the computer will not make it past the ROG splash screen. Found this has been problematic in 2016 with ROG laptops according to online forums.To reiterate, excellent performance and computing power. Big, heavy, but expected for a gaming PC. Just can't let it hibernate.
