Indeed ASUS has done a great job on this device. The quality of the body as well as the performance is awesome for this price. The Optane technology boosts the boot process significantly. This technology enhances the device speed in working with regularly used software a lot. If the Optane memory is 32 GB, then the actual working speed of this device with a usual HDD is as twice as the M.2 SATA SSDs which is a neat technology.The only weakness that is notable is its battery endurance which is not in general in the class of such laptop. If you are mature enough not to be a showy person, never waist your money on MacBook pro when such a nice product is out there.In overall, fully satisfied with the device, and I highly recommend it.

Throw 16 gig of ram in and replace the HDD with an SSD and you have a really nice ultrabook. Follow that with an M Key M.2 (has to be M Key!) And the thing flies, plays games and is quite portable for not too much money.Recomended for those unafraid to upgrade.

runs good but remember it is a laptop so it will get hot, otherwise its good, would still recommend building a pc, you could build one for way less than this laptop and have it run better

On advise of an expert I bought it as a gift and its very good.

This product is well rounded, it is great for office work and studying, and it can also run most games flawlessly. The speakers are also very good for a laptop. I am happy with my purchase, however I wish I would have gotten a model with 16GB of ram instead of 8. I also regret not buying a laptop with a touchscreen as it would be useful for lectures in university. Overall it is a very well rounded laptop and a lot better than any I have ever had. The 16GB of optane memory doesn't work well at the start but once it starts to memorize tasks it speeds up processes an incredible amount. I also wish this laptop had SSD storage instead of HDD. However for the price it is one of the best you can buy, I would recommend this. Also a side note; 15.6 inches is a little too big for class, however it is perfect for games and movies.

I?m using it as a graphic design student. The fingerprint reader is finicky, but I don?t really use it that much. The computer itself is pretty fast and very nice aesthetically. Speakers are nice and loud when listening to anything. I really like it.

I've been using this computer for about half a year now. It works well for most of what i need to do. However it said that it would come with a paint software and that did not arrive separately or come installed on it. I'd like for Amazon or Asus to look into that issue for me.Otherwise the computer has performed well. When playing high end games it will get hot, and will drop frames from time to time. But for most games on lower end settings it will work smoothly. The keyboard is taking some getting used to as i adjust from my old laptop. It has a number pad which is a plus.I like that this laptop has a minimalist aesthetic appeal rather than some funky colored gamer setup. You can take this around with you without looking like a nerd. It did not come with windows office installed but I can work around that issue.This will not be the most high powered laptop on the market, but it has enough to do most of the things you need it to in an office setting and can play games well. The price is fair and is worth the purchase. Just make sure the software stated that it comes with is actually there.

Hello! I am using my Asus computer for a couple weeks now and like most of the things but I notice that when I?m using Chrome it ?crashes? and if I?m using gmail on internet explorar will say ?google stoped working? any idea why this is happening?

The computer is great, only if you add an SSD on it. It has a powerful CPU and moderate GPU, pretty good for its price. Where I give a 1 Star review though is for Amazon's warehouse's deals. It looked like they didn't do no inspection or any quality check on the product before shipping it to me. The motherboard had hardware issues making the whole system unusable, had to refund. I bought the item as "used - GOOD". The item I received wasnt good, in fact it was trash. It booted one time out of 5 and then crashed after a few minutes of usage stating Memory and Storage issues all the time. Amazon should make quality checks to make sure the items they sell is usable and stable.

After 6 months of use, today i was going to power on my laptop and the screen was totally black. Like it doesn't have any power. The rest of the laptop does load as expected but not the screen. And it was working properly last night. I connected it to an external monitor and it works, i check all drivers, everything and nothing changed. It's just like the flex of the screen suddenly died. Im really disappointed with this problem.

Sans raison apparente après 7 mois d'usage vraiment satisfaisante il a ouvert en mode bios et iln'est plus en mesure de voir un disque de démarrage. Gardez une copie de vos fichiers importants car si cela arrive vous n'avez plus accès à aucun fichier et il n'est pas garantie par ASUS que vous les retrouviez après réparation. Durant la période de fonctionnement normale il ouvrait très rapidement mais il semble que ce problème de ,,non bootable device,, soit répandu et que cet ordinateur est peu fiable c'est vraiment dommage. Avant le crash, mon seul grief était que lorsque vous êtes en majuscule rien ne l'indique et c'est un problème important lors d'introduction de mots de passes, c'est inacceptable pour un ordinateur de ce niveau et à plus de 1300$ .

For the price and stated specs, this laptop was a piece of garbage. Extremely slow at booting up and loading browsers and programs. I should have returned it when I had the chance but wishful thinking and giving it a chance to magically fix itself. Contacted ASUS to troubleshoot and they suggested hard reset and that didn't help either. My 2007 MacBook is faster than this.

Looks good, doesn't work.Good looking specs in a good looking laptop, but that's about as far as good goes in this review. Had it about a month and it's been sluggish from the start but now I've spent an hour just trying to get it to turn on and show the login screen. Got it on sale for around 900, couldn't imagine paying the full 1400 for a laptop that gets out performed by my phone.Severely disappointed.

Je ne comprends pas qu'un ordinateur qui a supposément une valeur de 1450$ ne viens pas avec un disque dur SSD.Quand même que c'est un petit SSD de 256gb, c'est correct, tant que le Windows est installé dessus...La mémoire optane n'est pas aussi rapide qu'un SSD.... Quand je fait une mise a jours a un jeux, l'ordinateur deviens complètement inutilisable car sont disque est toujours a 100% d'utilisation...Breff, un bon processeur, une carte graphique utilisable mais le disque dure est d'une lenteur Incroyable, surtout en téléchargement... J'ai du sortir mon portable qui date de 2013 car mon Vivobook pro n'est pas utilisable lors de la mise a jours de Fortnite...S.V.P. Asus, mettre un SSD a la place de Optane... c'est ridiculement lent... Et je suis pas le seul qui le dit...

I primarily use this laptop for work and it worked really well for 6 months or so. Since then the casing around the screen had started to pull away from the connector piece connecting it to the body of the laptop.As I use it for work I can't afford the tone it'll take to send for repair so now I'll just have to buy something with a bit more build quality.

I was looking for a laptop under 1000$ which has 4k video editing capabilities. This laptop had every right thing including graphics card, adequate RAM, Intel Optane and 1 TB Hard drive. I happily ordered it.After receiving the unit and working fine for 24 hours, it was just dead. Even charging indicator won't come on. Tried all possible things and talked to customer support. After all failed attempt I had to return the product ( Thanks to amazon policy - i was able to)I ordered same laptop again and after it worked for 4-5 days- suddenly for no apparent reason on boot up there was an error leading to BIOS set up screen. I was travelling to other country for couple of weeks so I didn't do much and left. After I came back I tried turning on the computer, but it wouldn't start. I called Amazon/Asus and since it had been > 30 days product was out of return period. Asus representative suggested me to send it to Asus for repair.Now the trouble with ASUS service center starts:Asus Laptop sent back on Feb 7thAfter 7-8 days, i received an email stating my product might be out of warranty!!! I send them the receipt of purchase after 3-4 more days they ask me for BIOS password ( there was no password- just had to hit enter and this was detailed in the repair service order form that i sent with the laptop). Now it has been 19 days since i sent the laptop, I called in today and they have same reply - Laptop is in the service center and they are working on repairing it. No clue when will i get my laptop back. They are unable to tell a time frame either.When i check status using given RMA number- it still shows, Laptop not under warranty etc etc.Very dissatisfied with Asus service. I will never buy Asus again and will recommend highly against given the poor service they are providing.A bad unit may not work and is understandable, but 2 straight bad experience is not acceptable.

I wanted a fast laptop with good graphics and believed this particular one would be what I wanted. Unfortunately while the image quality is great it is so slow I find myself not wanting to use it. I timed it and it took 5 minutes and 8 seconds from pressing the power button until I can do anything on the desktop. When I click on the Chrome launcher it is at least 30 seconds until it actually opens the browser. I cannot express how disappointed I am with this computer especially as I have always used Asus components in my desktop builds and have had such good experiences. I have used $300 HP laptops at my place of employment that ran circles around the performance of this machine that cost $1300. I don't know if there is something wrong with my particular machine or if it is common to the entire line but I would suggest that you avoid this one.
