Apple employees have joined the online It Gets Better project that aims to help gay and lesbian teenagers come to terms with their sexual orientation. They share their own experiences of depression and how they dealt with suicidal impulses in a bid to inspire those who are just discovering that they could be lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender (LGBT).
 
One of the employees says, "I found a bottle of sleeping pills in my parents medicine cabinet and I took all of them.  Just few moments before I lost consciousness I had a fleeting moment where I thought, if it does get better and I am gone then I have made a really big mistake."
 
The It Gets Better project (www.itgetsbetter.com) was started in September 2010 by author Dan Savange  who posted a video on YouTube to guide LGBT youth facing harassment and discrimination. Through social media, the project has developed into a large community through thousands of videos posted online that have been viewed millions of times. Apple's employees are the latest to join the video camapign
