HP Spectre Folio With Chrome-Tanned Leather Casing Launched: Price, Specifications

HP Spectre Folio price in the US starts at $1,299

US electronics giant HP on Monday announced the launch of its latest, and rather unique, HP Spectre Folio notebook that comes with a 100 percent genuine chrome-tanned leather casing. The premium variant of the notebook comes with Gigabit-class 4G LTE, allowing users to access Internet at 4G speeds on the go. Other highlights of the laptop include up to 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, a 178-degree wide-angle display, and support for digital pen. The laptop is available in Bordeaux Burgundy and Cognac Brown colour options. The laptop runs Windows 10 out-of-the-box.

HP Spectre Folio price

The HP Spectre Folio has been launched at a price of $1,299 (roughly Rs. 95,300) for the base variant with the Intel Core i5 processor and $1,499 (approximately Rs. 1,09,900) for the one with Intel Core i7 and an LTE chip. Pre-orders for the laptop are already live on BestBuy.com and HP.com in the US. The Core i7 processor will be made available in Cognac Brown colour option starting October 29 in the country. The Bordeaux Burgundy is expected to release in late December along with the 4K panel option. Additionally, the HP Spectre Folio Pouch and the HP Spectre Folio Sleeve are expected to be available via HP.com in November for $49.99 (roughly Rs. 3,700) and $69.99 (around Rs. 5,100) respectively.

HP Spectre Folio laptop specifications

The HP Spectre Folio runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit, and sports a 13.3-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS micro-edge WLED-backlit display panel, with an option of a 4k panel. The base variant of the laptop is powered by an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor while the premium variant gets an 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, both coupled with Intel UHD Graphics 615. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB/ 512GB/ 1TB/ 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

Connectivity ports on the HP Spectre Folio notebook include one USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 (data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps) ports, 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, and a headphone/ microphone combo port. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac (1x1), Bluetooth v4.2, a microSD card reader, and an Intel XMM 7560 LTE-Advanced Pro chip (exclusive to the Intel Core i7 model). It gets a bundled 65W power adapter.

Other features of the HP Spectre Folio include a full-size island-style backlit keyboard, Bang & Olufsen quad speakers with HP Audio Boost technology, HP Wide Vision full-HD IR camera with dual array digital microphone, and HP Imagepad with multi-touch gesture support. The device supports dual eSIM, with an optional Nano-SIM slot. For customers activating the device on the Sprint network, Intel and Sprint are offering free unlimited data for six months with Autopay.
