  • Users are switching from MacBooks to Surface devices more than ever
  • It attributes the growth in sales to MacBook Pro's 'disappointment'

The MacBook Pro 2016 has been attracting a lot of complaints from early users, including the latest GPU glitch and battery life issues. Now, Microsoft's Brian Hall claims that because of the 'disappointment of the MacBook Pro', many users are switching to Microsoft Surface laptops. The company announced that it is having a fantastic holiday season, with November being the best month ever for consumer sales.

On its Windows blog, Hall reveals that users are switching from MacBooks to Surface devices more than ever before, mainly because users - especially professionals - are disappointed by the MacBook Pro. Microsoft claims that their MacBook trade-in program saw the highest numbers ever.

"Our trade-in program for MacBooks was our best ever, and the combination of excitement for the innovation of Surface coupled with the disappointment of the new MacBook Pro - especially among professionals - is leading more and more people to make the switch to Surface. It seems like a new review recommending Surface over MacBook comes out daily. This makes our team so proud, because it means we're doing good work," the blog reads.

Hall adds that "a new review recommending the Surface over a MacBook" comes out daily, upselling the company's Surface brand further. Furthermore, the blog reveals that the Surface Bundle sold out on its first day on Best Buy, and even the response to Surface Hub has 'far exceeded' Microsoft's expectations.

The post also touched upon the growth of its newly announced Surface Studio AIO desktop and Surface Book laptop. After launching it in US and Canada first, the Surface Book with Performance Base is now available in Australia and New Zealand as well. Starting early next quarter, Surface Book with Performance Base will also go on sale in Austria, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, and the UK.
