Honor 9N will be available in India exclusively through Flipkart, Huawei sub-brand Honor confirmed on Friday. The new Honor model is set to be launched in the country on July 24 with a dual rear camera setup. The Chinese brand has also highlighted that the handset will debut as "one of the most affordable notch phones" - featuring a 'Notch FullView' display with a 2.5D curved glass. The new design is touted to come with 12 layers of glass with a nanocoating finish on top that makes a mirror-like effect.

"We are delighted to announce that Flipkart will be our exclusive online sale partner for Honor 9N, our new smartphone," said P Sanjeev, Vice-President Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group, in press statement while announcing the partnership. "Accessibility to the consumer is one of the most important aspects that we consider while launching a new product and this strategic partnership with Flipkart assures us of that. Flipkart shares our vision to deliver the best value to consumers and strongly believe that this partnership will further help us strengthen our position in the Indian smartphone market."

The presence of the Notch FullView display on the Honor 9N is claimed to provide more screen space to users and display additional information such as date, time, battery stats, and other app notifications. Honor teases that the design of the upcoming smartphone is inspired by the water droplet design.

"We are thrilled to partner yet again with Honor to exclusively launch their latest smartphone, Honor 9N in India," said Ayyappan Rajagopal, Senior Director, Mobiles at Flipkart, in the statement. "This phone will definitely be a game changer in terms of the extraordinary design that it offers in the price segment. We at Flipkart believe that there is a big market in India that appreciates design and beauty. This phone will be a clincher."

The early tweets confirming the moniker of the upcoming model highlighted its dual rear camera setup that comes along with an LED flash module and accompanies a fingerprint sensor. One of the tweets teasing the launch suggested an enhanced camera experience with hashtag #NoOrdinaryBeauty. We can safely expect the presence of a large sensor - backed by some artificial intelligence (AI) features.

Some previous reports suggested that the Honor 9N could be the Indian version of the Honor 9i (2018). This model was launched in China with a price tag of CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 14,400) for the 64GB storage variant, while its 128GB storage option is available in the country at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,500). It runs Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 on top and features a 5.84-inch (1080x2280 pixels) full-HD+ IPS display. Under the hood, there is an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC, coupled with Mali T830-MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The handset has a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. A 16-megapixel sensor is also available at the front with a beauty mode. The Honor model also has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB on the connectivity front and packs a 3000mAh battery.
