HTC was one of the first handset manufacturers to announce Android 4.4 KitKat rollout plans for its flagship smartphone, the HTC One. Now the Taiwanese manufacturer has detailed plans for the HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat update for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) countries.

As per Android Community, HTC will be rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for the EMEA countries from the end of January and the Play edition of the HTC One will be receiving the update much sooner than 2014. The HTC One Play edition is expected to receive Android 4.4 KitKat update starting from the end of November, according to the report. However, the report notes that HTC was not clear about Android 4.4 Kitkat update for HTC One variants, the One Max and One mini, stating, "Details regarding the HTC One Max and One mini will follow." However, there is still no word from the company on the rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat update for HTC One in Asia.

Earlier, a report cited president of HTC America, Jason Mackenzie confirming an aggressive roll-out of the Android 4.4 Kitkat update to HTC devices. As per Jason, the HTC One Google Play edition would be updated in less than two weeks while the developer edition and unlocked variants of the HTC One will be receiving the update within 30 days.

The previous report further confirmed that other HTC One variants such as the One mini and One Max phablet will be receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat update in three months or less. However, did not reveal any details of the update for HTC One variants.
