Huawei Honor Holly With 5-Inch HD Display Officially Announced in India

Huawei on Monday, apart from launching the Honor 6 smartphone and MediaPad T1 8.0 tablet, also announced the Honor Holly smartphone for the Indian market.

The latest Huawei Honor Holly will be made available in the Indian market later in the year, and as of now, no pricing has been revealed. Notably, the new Honor smartphone from Huawei is now also listed on the company's India site without pricing.

The Honor Holly runs the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with the company's new Emotion UI on top. It features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) LCD display, offering a pixel density of 294ppi. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core (unspecified chipset) processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. The Honor Holly is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby support and packs 16GB of built-in storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

Huawei Honor Holly sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and Samsung BSI sensor, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera includes various modes such as panoramic mode, beauty mode, HDR mode, continuous shot, and scene mode.

The handset is backed by a 2000mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, DLNA, and 3G. The Honor Holly includes G-sensor, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.

The other devices launched on Monday - Huawei Honor 6 and the MediaPad Honor T1 - will be exclusively available via Flipkart priced at Rs. 19,999 and Rs. 9,999 respectively.

Initially unveiled for the Chinese market, the Huawei Honor 6 runs the recent Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with the company's Emotion UI 2.3. Other specifications include 5-inch JDI full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) in-cell display; octa-core Hi Silicon Kirin 920 processor (4xA15 1.7GHz + 4xA7 1.3GHz); 3GB of RAM; 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, BSI sensor, and f2.0 aperture; 5-megapixel front-facing camera; 16GB of inbuilt storage; expandable via microSD card, and 3100mAh battery.

The voice-calling Huawei MediaPad T1 8.0 tablet runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Emotion UI 1.6 skinned on top. It features an 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels; a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8212 A7 processor; 1GB of RAM; 5-megapixel shooter (no flash); 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front facing camera; 8GB inbuilt storage; expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, and 4800mAh battery.
