Hot on the heels of the unveiling of the Moto G in India, Motorola has now confirmed an event for February 25 at the side-lines of MWC 2014.

However, the company has no plans to introduce any new device, according to Pocket-lint. The site claims that the company has confirmed that the event will see Motorola detailing the media about 'update on business'. We expect the company to reveal its upcoming plans post the acquisition by Lenovo.

Further, the site also speculates that Motorola's CEO Dennis Woodside will be attending the event. Motorola has also sent a teaser image which reads, "You are Invited." Unfortunately, the teaser image does not reveal any details about the event but a girl in the image is seen holding a Moto X.

Earlier, Lenovo Group agreed to buy Google's Motorola handset division for $2.91 billion, which is said to give the Chinese major a big push in a heavily competitive US handset market dominated by Apple. Notably, under this deal, the Mountain View giant would keep the majority of Motorola's mobile patents, which are considered its prize assets.

With Motorola's acquisition, Lenovo will receive over 2,000 'patent assets' as part of the transaction, however, it remains to be seen whether they might be subject to extra scrutiny from regulators.

The Lenovo's Motorola acquisition ends Google's short-lived foray into making consumer mobile devices, and marked a pullback from its largest-ever acquisition. Notably, Google paid a whopping $12.5 billion for Motorola in 2012.

On Wednesday, Motorola finally launched the Moto G in India. The 8GB variant has been priced at Rs. 12,499, while the 16GB variant has been priced at Rs. 13,999. The phone will be available from online retailer Flipkart exclusively.
