Samsung has launched a new feature phone, the Metro B350E, priced at Rs. 2,650 in India. The new basic phone from Samsung is now available to buy via the company's online India store.

With the launch, the company is breaking away from the usual smartphone launches and has come up with an offering targeted at entry-level phones.

The Samsung Metro B350E features dual-SIM support and is a candybar phone with physical keypad. It features a 2.4-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) display. It comes with 32MB inbuilt storage and is expandable via microSD card (up to 16GB). It measures 117.5x51.3x11.9mm and comes with GRPS/ EDGE and Bluetooth connectivity. The Metro B350E phone sports a 2-megapixel rear camera without flash. Some of the features that the phone offers include torch, MP3 player, FM radio, Internet browser, and also features a Power Saving Mode for its 1200mAh battery.

Samsung, according to a recently published report by International Data Corporation (IDC), was once again the top smartphone brand in India in the second quarter of 2015. IDC claimed that Samsung remained on top despite seeing a quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) shipment decline, however, the company saw shipments growing on a year-on-year basis.

The data pointed out that the affordable segment phones such as the Samsung Galaxy J1 and Galaxy Core helped the company to gain lead.

Samsung India earlier this month launched the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G at Rs. 11,100. The company after the launch said that it now had 14 4G LTE-capable models in the country.

The dual-SIM Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is nearly identical to the 3G variant of the smartphone, which was launched back in September last year, except it includes 4G LTE connectivity. The phone supports both Band 3 and Band 40, which means it's compatible with 4G networks being deployed in India right now. It also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, instead of Android 4.4 KitKat.
