Sony Xperia L, Xperia SP reportedly up for preorders in UK

Recently there has been a lot of news in regards to Sony planning to add mid-range devices in its Xperia family. One device that is expected to join the league is said to be the Xperia L. This smartphone is also referred as C210X and is currently codenamed TaoShan has been leaked quite extensively on the Internet. Apart from this the other Xperia smartphone that has been spotted in the wild recently is the Xperia SP.

A report at Xperia Blog notes that both these smartphones have been listed by as many as four UK retailers. LambdaTek retailer has listed Xperia L (C2015 or TaoShan) for 219.80 pounds (including VAT) and the Xperia SP (C5303 or HuaShan) for 312.98 pounds (including VAT). This website has also indicated that both these smartphone will be available starting March 19th.

The other retailer which is offering Xperia L and SP is Micro Aid, which states that these smartphone will be available as early as March 12. This website is asking 270.46 euros for the Xperia L, while the Xperia SP will be available to the customers for 389.79 euros.

Apart from these two retailers, Amazon and eBuyer too have listed both these Xperia smartphones. But both of them have not revealed any further information in regards to pricing or availability date for Sony Xperia SP or Xperia L

As per past leaks Sony Xperia L is expected to feature a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. This smarthone will supposedly come with a 4.3-inch 480X854 touchscreen, an 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera, 8 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and a 1,700 mAh battery. It will apparently have Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) pre-installed. Its dimensions are 128.7x65x9.7 mm.

Xperia SP on the other hand is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 320 graphics. As per the rumours, this smartphone will sport a 4.6-inch 720p display, 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera and 8GB of internal storage.

There is no word whether Xperia L or Xperia SP will be IP55 and IP57 certified like Xperia Z.
