Xiaomi India Ties Up With GadgetWood to Offer Repair Services at Your Door

Xiaomi, in a move to improve its after sales service, has announced a partnership with GadgetWood. Under the partnership, GadgetWood promises one-day repair, which includes pick and drop services for Xiaomi devices (smartphones and tablets) within a business day of placing the request for a fee of Rs. 99.

The Delhi-based startup in a press statement announced the news and also revealed that a 2.5-month long pilot project ran in Delhi-NCR region prior to the final announcement. It added that 500 Xiaomi customers have already used GadgetWood for repair services. The service is only available in Delhi-NCR at the moment, but a Xiaomi spokesperson told NDTV Gadgets the company is "exploring opportunities to expand it to other cities in India."

Commenting on the announcement, Jayant Jha, Co-founder and CEO, GadgetWood said, "The Xiaomi brand has created ripples in the Indian market. With the combined synergies of this globally-reputed brand and GadgetWood, consumers can benefit from a great user experience as well as quick and seamless repair services. The partnership is a testament to the fact that we, at GadgetWood, are committed to solving all technical and usage-related concerns of the Indian consumer through our unmatched services."

Xiaomi India is currently selling the new Mi 4i via flash sales model (currently on Flipkart only) while other smartphones including the Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Redmi 2, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G are available via Snapdeal, Amazon, as well as Flipkart. The Chinese company is also selling the Xiaomi MiPad, the only tablet in company's current line-up. Xiaomi also started selling products via its own website, Mi.com, with the recent launch of Mi Band fitness tracker.
