The Colour Science Behind the OnePlus 10 Pro's Cameras

OnePlus and the legendary camera manufacturer Hasselblad have been an incredible duo at delivering the best camera system to the users. And now with the OnePlus 10 Pro, it's time to take the camera performance to a whole new level. The powerful flagship devices' second-generation 'Hasselblad Camera for Mobile' will give you the superior camera experience you were looking for up till now.

OnePlus' goal has always been to deliver the best experience to more people than ever before, and that was the reason to get Hasselblad's eight-decade-plus lineage of camera expertise on board. The first-generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile debuted on the OnePlus 9 series. And in 2022, the company has a second-generation module, loaded with several first-time features that will entice you to get a device for yourself.

OnePlus 10 Pro features a triple camera setup module at the back that consists of a 48MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 8MP telephoto camera and many exciting features. Let's give you a brief about all the camera lenses and other features that come within the module:

OnePlus Billion Color Solution

This extraordinary feature allows the main, telephoto, and ultra-wide camera to shoot in full 10-bit colour. Without getting into technical details, let's just say that the OnePlus 10 pro can process 64 times more colours than the other smartphones that shoot in 8-bit colour. It will show more delicate and pleasing colours in the photos by removing the colour banding. So, in case you are out at the time of sunset and plan to click a photo, be ready to see a result that is far more true to life.

The 150° ultrawide camera

With OnePlus 10 Pro in your hands, get ready to experience the widest ultra-wide camera ever on a company's device, which allows you to capture all your eyes can see. The smartphone's ultra-wide camera offers a 150° field of view, allowing the user to take photos that are four times wider than those captured with traditional ultra-wide cameras. So next time you are at a get-together, you can easily flex your photography skills by taking more friends together in just one shot.

Adding a cherry on the top, OnePlus has also featured a dedicated Fisheye Mode that is fun to play around with and captures everything around you with an entirely fresh perspective.

However, to access both the 150° and Fisheye modes, one will have to visit the dedicated tab within the Camera application, as by default, the camera will capture photos in a 110° field of view.

The main camera

The main camera is the heart of the OnePlus devices, and that is why the company has featured a 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor that remains exclusive to OnePlus devices. The 48MP camera adds the wow effect your photos have been lacking, thanks to the Sony sensor that improves noise reduction, resolution, and dynamic range to give you a perfect shot. When you want to zoom in to get closer to the subject, the OnePlus leverages OIS to reduce the shake and blur.

The telephoto camera

The OnePlus 10 Pro features an 8 MP telephoto camera that can, as we already told you, take photos in full 10-bit colour. It allows you to capture photos with up to 30× digital zoom, and the quality of your photos will not deteriorate as the new super-resolution algorithm improves the clarity of the shots using digital zoom. And it also supports OIS which will cut all the blur and shakiness from photos.

Second-generation Hasselblad Pro Mode

To your surprise, all three cameras support the second-generation Hasselblad Pro Mode. And the feature has been taken to a next level on the OnePlus 10 Pro. You can now capture the photos in 12-bit RAW with improved dynamic range and noise reduction. In simpler terms, if you are the one who loves to edit the photos after capturing them, then this feature will deliver higher quality photo files, allowing you more creative freedom.

Master Style

With OnePlus 10 Pro, you can capture enriching photos in three styles — Serenity, Radiance, and Emerald. These three colour styles allow you to capture the different shots for different occasions. Like when you have to click a portrait image, you can use Serenity, and if there's a need to get a photo of something that depicts hyperreality, Radiance comes into play. And the Emerald allows you to capture the perfect landscape photos you might feel like sharing on social media.

You can access all of them through the Filters menu within the Camera app.

Movie Mode

For all the creators who love to control the camera settings, the Movie Mode feature will bring wonders to the videos they capture. With this feature on board, you can easily adjust ISO, shutter speed, and white balance before and even during filming. Just like the 2nd generation of Hasselblad Pro Mode, this feature also allows true creative freedom to the users when they edit their captured footage. The OnePlus 10 Pro also comes with a DualView Video feature, through which you can capture videos from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously. Well, what more could you ask for? Record all the video content in 4K and 8K formats, and edit them as you want to.

Selfie Camera

The OnePlus 10 Pro sports a better front-facing camera compared to its predecessors. It comes with a 32MP front camera which offers crisp and clear selfies that are perfect for sharing on social media. The front camera also features an ultimate Nightscape mode, with which you can take all the selfies you want in low-light environments and get natural, bright and clear results.

OnePlus has taken a unique path in creating the best possible camera experience for its customers, and while looking at features, there's no doubt about it. The OnePlus 10 Pro delivers the most versatile photography experience ever on a OnePlus device, and to try that out, you need to get your hands on the device. So what are you thinking now? Get your OnePlus 10 Pro now—available at a starting price of Rs. 66,999 for the 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. And Rs. 71,999 for the top-end variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
