Amazon Prime Day sale is almost upon us and we pounce on the opportunity to talk about the best deals people can expect from Amazon India’s sale. This sale is only for Amazon Prime members, so now might be the best time to get a membership if you haven’t already. To discuss what you should buy and what you can skip during the Amazon sale, Gadgets 360’s online shopping enthusiasts Akhil Arora, Gagan Gupta, and Rishi Alwani join host Pranay Parab on this episode of Orbital.

We start by talking about Amazon Prime Day - what it is and who it is for. Obviously this is a sale targeted solely at Amazon Prime members, but how is the service different in India compared with the US? We answer the question on the podcast. There are plenty of sceptics on Gadgets 360, and this group looks at Amazon Prime Day in the US in the years past and whether many of the deals on offer were actually good. For those of you too excited about this Amazon sale, this is the part of the podcast that urges you to temper your expectations.

Then we start talking about Amazon Prime Day's Prime Video offerings. We look at all the movies and TV shows that are being touted as Prime exclusives and being released in the lead up to Amazon Prime Day and wonder whether these are indeed exclusives or if Amazon is just using the sale as an excuse to release content that was in the works anyway.

We then share some tips on making the most of the Amazon sale. This is where the expertise of our in-house online shoppers comes into play. We talk about basic tips around how to spot a good deal online, how you can ensure that you get the products you actually want, and finally, discuss which products we expect to be discounted heavily. Rishi and Gagan then take over to suggest products you should be looking out for, and even mention some rival sites where you may get better discounts. Note that the sites they recommend may not be the ones you expect to hear.
