  • Man muss natürlich wissen, wie
Frank Richter (Nov 5, 2019) on Amazon

Cliente Amazon (Dec 5, 2018) on Amazon

  • These headphones are the best
Bill Kilpatrick (Dec 30, 2017) on Amazon
These headphones are the best I've ever owned. You can buy the new-and-improved HD800S, but these cost a lot less and are just phenomenal - fast, clear, neutral. Some complain that they're bright but that's because they're source dependent. They will reproduce what you feed them. For proper balance, get a top-shelf amp. These are not meant to be powered by your phone. They need juice. But if you listen to classical or jass or anything acoustic, these will blow your mind.

  • BEST. HEADPHONE. EVER.I have bought
Adam (Oct 19, 2016) on Amazon
BEST. HEADPHONE. EVER.I have bought over 12 high-end headphones and tested over 30 additional high-end headphones over the past 3 years and can say that these are absolutely the best headphones I have ever heard. They do have a few spikes in the 6k range and lack some bass, but I found that this is easily correctible with some light EQing. The most important thing is that these headphones have an extremely fast response, which makes everything sound more accurate and clear than any other headphone I have tried. Additionally, these have a much wider sound stage than any other headphone I have tried (much wider than the HD 600s).

  • I started on headphones back
    B. Bernardi (Oct 9, 2016) on Amazon
I started on headphones back in 1971 with a pair of Koss pro4AA that were built like a tank heavy and looked like Jet pilot phones but boy did they sound great blew me away. Over the years I got a way from headphones until around 2004 when I could afford better ones. After trying many including Bose, Koss, Pioneer Beats and even Sennheiser but nothing came close to those old pro4AA so I finally bit on the reviews and bought these HD800 and WOW these phones are absolutely the finest - I hear subtle sounds in all types of music I never heard before. I use my Mac Pro to play iTunes collection so the only thing lacking was being able to pump up the volume so I got a headphone amp and now I am BLOWN AWAY AGAIN!after using them for over ten years they still sound like new but for one thing which Sennheiser seems to falter on in the past - the cabling which went bad on my old HD650s and had to be replaced - now I am buying a Sennheiser replacement cord because the rubber jacket is splitting open (see picture) But after 10 years I'm ok with it even though I had to put out more than many headphones cost to get a new one - over $200 - which I did because I wanted the genuine Sennheiser cable since these things do have impedance matching.

  • THE SOUND QUALITY AND COMFORT
Amazon Customer (Apr 1, 2016) on Amazon
THE SOUND QUALITY AND COMFORT IS MUCH BETTER THAN I IMAGINED. I WORK LONG HOURS IN FRONT OF COMPUTER (10+ HOURS), BUT MY EARS DOESN'T HURT AND THE MUSIC NEVER SOUNDED BETTER (EXCEPT AT LIVE CONCERT). I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HEADPHONE TO MUSIC LOVERS. I HAVE ECLECTIC TASTE IN MUSIC AND LISTEN TO CLASSICAL, JAZZ, ROCK, R&B, HIPPOP, NEW AGE, VOCALIST FROM BYGONE ERAS, AND BROADWAY AND THEY ALL SOUND FANTASTIC!

  • I currently use Sennheiser HD800
Beach Guy (Jan 25, 2016) on Amazon
I currently use Sennheiser HD800 with a tube amp as my Gold Standard. I bought a Schiit Vali tube amp to go with it. I played some John Williams, Carmen, and Phantom of the Opera to people who hate classical music. They response: Wow, it's like a concert hall! The soundstage is HD800's prime value, but it's definition is also fantastic considering they have dynamic drivers. Audiophiles say, HD800 are cheap headphones considering what $1100-$1500 will give you - they match the sound quality of speakers and amp setup worth $25000.

  • Amazing headphones. Easily the best
Sam Yaksich (Nov 11, 2015) on Amazon
Amazing headphones. Easily the best I've ever owned, even better than a previous Sennheiser model that lasted for 10 to 15 years. I hear details in symphonic works that I never realized were there until I put on these HD 800s. Sure they're expensive, but if you really love listening to music, these will present your music to you as never before. They're the top-of-the-line Sennheisers and a fantastic product! Would buy again.

  • Jury still out on this
Leon Deisla (Jul 6, 2015) on Amazon
Jury still out on this purchase. Does not compare to speakers as some claim but that's to be expected. I don't feel a headphone amp is as needed as some have professed. Compared to the in ear phones, I find I can't listen to them while laying on my side. This is not possible with the HD 800. This is somewhat of an inconveinence for me as the majority of my listening occurs as I am preparing to sleep! If you are a listener used to the lower registers in an orchestra such as the tympani or the replication of cannon fire such as the 1812th overture, these are not the headphones for you. I am spoiled by my subwoofers as they give me the true representation I recall as my days spent in a symphony orchestra.Neither do the in ear phones, but $600. dollars vrs $1500. dollars I am more comfortable knowing I can toss and turn and not be sentenced to a life of listening on my back.

  • volevo il meglio in quanto
Cacioppo (Jun 26, 2015) on Amazon

  • Little longer burn-in than 50
    Just Say'in (Feb 25, 2015) on Amazon
Little longer burn-in than 50 hours. 50 hours seems to be enough for most headphones but I found around 70 to 80 hours is when I noticed a big difference in sound with the HD 800. I switched around with all my headphones (hd 600, hd 650, denons ah-d 2000, denons ah-d 600) and they didn't sound quite as clear and open as the HD 800s. The Denons also seemed more closed in and the other HD sennheiser's weren't as clear. Before the proper burn in the HD 800 sounded closer to the HD 600.

  • I am a Sennheiser fan.
    P.M.R (Dec 3, 2014) on Amazon
I am a Sennheiser fan. I am such a fan because my oldest Sennheiser product, HD590, is still aurally perfect after 3 cable transplants, 2 headband cushion replacements, and an ear piece surgery. And it's 15 years old. I love the fact that I can still buy replacement parts for them. I love the fact that they still sound so great after all these years.I can only tell minute differences between this and the other versions, HD590, HD600, HD650. louder lows and clearer highs. less resonant feedbacks leading to a clearer sound overall. downside, it seems to amplify gratuitous noise as well. i hear too much noise when amped up. something i don't get with my older, less sensitive, model. Also, due to its ridiculous low frequency response, the ear pieces vibrate when listening to bass heavy music. it feels like a massaging unit on my head. Perhaps this was the reason for it's heavier mass. But the weight is never intruding due to open ear design and comforts. I am listening through Roland Octa Capture Interface.I can definitely hear it's well made, yet I also realize that there are significantly cheaper Sennheiser alternatives, which may replicate similar quality. I would compare it to 192k and 48k sampled recordings; there is a definite difference due to higher sampling, especially on higher frequency sounds which may not be quantized correctly. However, unless you work in this field, you will definitely not notice it, especially, when not compared, side by side.but i am very happy with the product, because i knew the difference would be minute, and that difference allows me to listen to the flavor bits of the music, harmonic fillers played at 25% volume for half measure, completely washed out by the main, the vocal, and the beats, usually ignored by the mass, unless carefully focused. it's unbelievable how everything articulates without causing dissonance.TL:DR- very little difference between this and cheaper alternative Sennheiser. BUT there is a difference and i am happy for it.

  • sounds like a high end
Jeffrey R. Fischman (Aug 22, 2014) on Amazon
sounds like a high end speaker rather than a headphone, you can hear into the music and follow different melodic lines in complex music. emotionally engaging as well. sounds different with different driving electronics. seems very neutral. really weird to hear low bass notes with headphones (no phony 60 cycle harmonics hiding real note)JRF

  • These are the best headphones
Brandon J. Andrews (Jun 7, 2014) on Amazon
These are the best headphones I've heard. The entire audible frequency range is presented in excellent balance. Imaging and soundstage are comparable to good near-field monitors. Assuming a good recording, every sound is presented with physicality in space, probably owing to the excellent control and channel matching of the drivers. Measured impulse and square wave response is unrivalled even by $5000 electrostatics. You can safely ignore the "audiophiles" who claim you need kilobuck amplifiers and cables to get the most out of these. They sound great from an O2/ODAC and a $300 receiver. Also, ignore those who tell you that you need lossless or high-res files. Spotify Extreme and iTunes Plus are virtually indistinguishable from lossless when submitted to a proper blind comparison.

  • I bought these headphones right
    Sergey G (Jan 30, 2014) on Amazon
I bought these headphones right before Christmas on a crazy discount on Amazon - 45% off. Before that I bought HD-700 on a Thanksgiving Day discount. Lucky for me I could still return the HD-700. I thought only crazy maniacs could dish out $1,500 for HD-800, but for under $800 the expense is justifiable. The are amazing! Extremely large drivers, clear sound, much better than HD-700. Even unburned, HD-800 sounded better than HD-700 after 100 hours of listening. Paired with a Musical Fidelity M1 HPAP headphone amp, HD-800 is the best you can find in the Sennheiser's product line. Granted, I never tried Beyerdynamics T1 or expensive Grado, so I cannot compare. But I don't even want to. I think it's crazy to stock up on $1500+ headphones if you're only going to use one pair. HD-800 are the best for me.
