  • Amazon India opened an experience zone in Bengaluru
  • It now has the Kindle line, and the Fire TV Stick to showcase
  • More such experience zones are planned for other cities

Although Amazon is mostly known as a marketplace to sell other people's products, the company has its own devices as well - the Kindle ebook readers are one example, and it recently launched the Fire TV Stick in India as well. To get people to try out these products, the company has launched an Experience Zone in Bengaluru where anyone can try out the devices and see how they work.

The Experience Zones are a new concept for Amazon India, which has mostly relied on its online presence - though it has been selling Kindles through large-format retailers such as Croma and Reliance Digital, as well.

The idea behind the Experience Zone is to increase the visibility of Amazon's devices, a source in the company explained, and not necessarily to drive sales on the spot. That's why the company has organised the Experience Zone in Mantri Square Mall in Bengaluru, instead of inside a partner store, even though the people showing the products are being handled by the retail partners, a source in Amazon told Gadgets 360.

The company plans to set up multiple such experience zones around the country, although the exact cities and locations has not been finalised at yet, we were told, but our source said that this is going to be just one part of an ongoing process to increase the visibility of Amazon's devices in India going forward this year.
