Couple of days before HTC's proposed October 8 event, the rumoured Nexus 9 tablet appears to have passed through the US FCC, and separately, pictured in a purported image courtesy @upleaks.

While HTC's FCC documents accessible online do not mention the name 'Nexus 9', it does repeats 'tablets' and even shows the ID Label location at the back side of the tablet - it's expected to be the Nexus 9 as that's they only HTC tablet in the rumour mill currently.

There is not much information about the specifications of the tablet in the FCC documents (via Android Police). However, specifications like Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth and NFC can be seen. Also, the tablet (seen with model number 0P82100) also appears set to come in 16GB and 32GB storage variants.

Other purported specifications of the HTC Nexus 9 hint at the inclusion of a 2.3GHz Tegra K1 processor along with 3GB of RAM, a 9-inch full-HD display, 16GB inbuilt storage, 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years, external storage support for 128GB, and the much-awaited Android L - rumoured to be named Android Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP).

In the meanwhile, @upleaks has uploaded an image of what's claimed to be a HTC 'T1' tablet, and is seen with both HTC and Nexus branding. The alleged Nexus 9 tablet in the image is seen to have a rubberised texture, similar to previous Nexus tablets.

Like HTC, which is said to be working closely with Google for the anticipated Nexus 9 tablet, Motorola also seems to be making progress with its rumoured 'Shamu' or Nexus 6 handset. Last week, the yet-to-be-launched Nexus X or Nexus 6 was reportedly spotted in a couple of images. The new leaked images were reportedly taken when the unannounced handset was being used by a commuter.

The images showed the front panel clearly as well as a Moto X-like design. There was a front speaker visible below the display, while the on-screen navigation buttons tip that the handset was running a build of Android L. Notably, similar on-screen navigation bars were seen in a previous leaked image.
