Samsung has already revealed its intentions of focussing on the tablet segment in the coming year. Following the strategy, the South Korean manufacturer seems to be gearing up to introduce two new tablets - a 10.1-inch AMOLED display tablet and the alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, if a few recent reports are to be believed.

ET News claims that Samsung's 10.1-inch AMOLED tablet might see the light of day by January and that the company will be showcasing the alleged AMOLED tablet at CES 2014. The report notes that Samsung would be aggressive in pushing out the rumoured 10.1-inch AMOLED tablet in market after launch. Further, the report informs that Samsung's Galaxy Tab 7.7 was the first AMOLED tablet from the company which was launched in 2011; however, it did not get good market response.

Apart from the 10.1-inch AMOLED tablet, Samsung is also said to be working on an 8-inch AMOLED display tablet. Further, the South Korean giant is said to launch one of the two models (8-inch and 10.1-inch AMOLED) alongside the 2014 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5 early next year.

In addition, Sammobile has spotted the alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Lite at FCC. The FCC listing of the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite reveals a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels; a 1.2GHz dual-core processor; 3G connectivity and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The report suggests that the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite launch can be in early January, but does not mention any specific release date.

Earlier reports had suggested that the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite with model number SM-T11 would be priced at 100 euros, translating to roughly Rs. 8,500. The report also claimed that the alleged Galaxy Tab 3 Lite would be available in Wi-Fi and 3G variants. Additionally the report detailed that the rumoured Galaxy Tab 3 Lite in Cream White colour variant would be rolled out to markets by the second week of January 2014, which would be followed by the 3G model in the same colour in the third week.

The rumoured Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is not the only Lite variant expected to launch soon, as Samsung is said to be working on the Galaxy Note 3 Lite and Galaxy Grand Lite, believed to be the affordable variants of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Grand respectively, which are scheduled to launch at MWC 2014.
