Xolo finally takes the covers off its Nvidia Tegra 3-powered tablet, the Play Tab 7.0, which it has announced for Rs. 12,999. However, the company has not yet detailed about the availability details of the tablet in the country. With this announcement, we look forward to the Tegra 4-based tablet that has also been announced, the Xolo Play Tegra Note, rumoured to be launched at Rs. 16,999 sometime in October.

The Xolo Play Tab 7.0 features a 7-inch IPS (1280x800 pixel) display with pixel density of 216ppi and is capable of full-HD video playback. The tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor along with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and sports a 2-megapixel front-facing camera while there is no rear camera on the tablet. The device comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage with support for microSD card, however, no details about maximum expandable storage supported by the tablet.

The Play Tab 7.0 includes a 4000mAh battery that the company claims can deliver up to 8 hours of music playback. Connectivity options on the tablet include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Micro-USB. The Xolo Play Tab 7.0 measures 194.6x122.6x10.6mm and weighs 338 grams. Strangely enough, it doesn't offer 3G connectivity, or voice-calling support.
