Great little computer. Once it was upgraded to the Microsoft 10.1 version it was exactly what I wanted for my use! Recommend highly for the price and easy installation of software.

Flawless. No problems whatsoever.

I bought it mainly for the 128 gb ssd. At this price, most of laptops come with 32 gb disk memory, that is not a real ssd.The performance for study and office issues is great. The screen is very good and the battery reaches 6 hours. The upgrade to Windows 10 requires a previous bios update. The total process demands 4/5 hours. The only critic is that the keyboard is a little hard. The Celeron is fast enough to do all stuff. I recommend this computer to anyone who requires portability and good battery life.

To all the great reviews, I wish to add that this fantastic fanless laptop is running smoothly for me (word processing and web surfing with occasional video watching) in 85 degree F indoor summer temperatures. The fanless design means that our abundant desert dust will not build up on the internal parts to slow this down over time as the dust has done to all my fanned computers. I generally get 6hr battery life, much better than the 2hr on my previous fanless Asus netbook x101ch. Having the old type of video output port (the VGA) is nice in addition to the HDMI. I bought this for a lot of upgrades, but the 128gb ssd puts it ahead of its competitors and is primarily why I chose this one. My sister has an HP stream and the 32gb ssd only comes with 8gb free, due to Windows and other software. 8gb is troublesomely small for me. The Intel N2840 processor in this laptop is the best fanless processor I can find, newer versions (like the N2940) are being made slower.

Extremely happy. My Toshiba Satellite Laptop is very light and easy to handle. My son has an older version and it is heavy and bulky. Our older one is still working after 8 years of hard use. This is a very good quality product!

This little laptop is highly portable, fast, and efficient. After arrival, I upgraded it into windows 10 without any issue. The speaker is great. The display is awesome. The only issue I have is the keyboard, some keys are not as responsive as those in other keyboard so I have to type harder.

I was looking to replace my 10-inch Dell Inspiron laptop, whose functioning had slowed to molasses. I needed a light,small machine with relatively long battery life for light Net surfing, email downloads and some word processing.The Satellite fills all the functions I expected of the Dell, while operating much more quickly. It provides updated technology, such as one (of two) USB port that is USB 3 and an HDMI output. I like the idea of having a moderate sized 128 GB solid state hard drive.With only 2 GB of RAM and a relatively slow processor, it's speed is not ideal, but it does the jobs I need. BDB

Gave this to my daughter as a gift, she uses it for her business and is quite pleased.

This computer works smoothly. I have had mine for 3 years and no problems with operations.However, the second function on some keys are mixed up. Forexample the @ function is where the " key is, along with a few others.

I ordered this as a laptop, actually it is a notebook.

Light weight and small so it fits in my bag easily. It has a good battery life and charges quickly, also you can get free windows 10 upgrade and download office 360 free for a year. I have had problems with the mouse pad; it seems to glitch every once in awhile and you have to keep manipulating it before it will respond. There is no disk drive (which I knew ahead of time as I researched the computer before buying) so please be aware of this before purchasing! Also, it takes awhile to get used to typing with these keys as you have to push them with a little bit more force to get them to work. At the end of the day it was a cheap computer and it gets the job done. Would not recommend for a college student, but it is good as a home laptop to check email, apply for jobs, etc.

The letters on this laptop are falling off.

 4/4/2017 Update - After 1.5 years this Toshiba turned out to be a disappointment. Some common software installations needed to be reinstalled to resolve issues over time. Six months into use, we had to completely reinstall Windows 10 due to OS instability. 4 months later it froze completely and restarting was only possible by opening the back and disconnecting the battery. Finally the screen started going dark for no apparent reason. We can no longer trust it and bought a new 11" laptop - a Lenovo E11 with the M5Y10C CPU (avoid the slower N3150 model). Due to all the above and its short usable lifetime the rating is reduced from 4 to 2 star. That alone should put it on your shortlist of candidates.Granted, you can add a 64GB SD Card to those but the $20 expense, the reduced efficiency in managing content, and the permanent occupation of the SD card slot while not even reaching 128GB combined, simply does not make sense.As for this Toshiba laptop, although we are happy with it, it is not perfect and took 5+ hours to set up (a one-time thing).Here is a 2 part review. A short and a long take.The short-take:The L15 is a competent and practical laptop fast enough for your everyday uses from Web browsing to audio and video streaming, light gaming, editing Documents and running various Windows utilities.Note on Web browsing: Microsoft Edge was EXTREMELY slow for me on this machine. Chrome on the other hand is a delight !!!System-related tasks were fast: uninstalling programs, fetching/opening files, adjusting system parameters, disk cleanup, etc.The keyboard is responsive and easy to use. It has dedicated keys for Page up/down, volume, brightness.The touchpad worked well but only after customization.The screen needed calibration before it provided good contrast.Many drivers required updating, and bloatware needed to be uninstalled.The screen brightness has excellent dark/bright range and the speakers can get very loud.I would strongly recommend waiting for this or other machines to be shipped with the much preferred Windows 10 unless you have a special attachment to Windows 8 or need one soon. Upgrading to Windows 10 took 2+ hours !The laptop (alone) weighed 2.5lbs on our digital kitchen scale. Less than the reported 2.7 or 2.9Battery life easily topped 5.5 hours during which we watched 2 hours of video, then audio streaming plus web-browsingand running various tasks at performance-mode. As expected the laptop remained very cool even after 9 hours of use.The long-take:Preparing the machine was honestly a pain due to the upgrade to Windows 10, Office365 installation etc.If you are not in a hurry, chances are that in a few months many of these 11.6" Laptops will come with Windows 10and save you hours of updates and other overheads that come with upgrading it yourself.In total it took over 5 hours(!) to do things properly in this order:Initial boot (30+ min), Office 365 download and installation (1+ Hr),BIOS update 20 min (via Toshiba Service Station utility) - recommended before upgrading to Windows 10,Windows 10 upgrade (2+ hours of download+installation)updating drivers, installing the usual potpourri of whatever programs I need,and uninstalling numerous Apps that come with Windows 10 (in Settings --> System --> Apps & Features, as well as in 'Programs and features' in the Control Panel), plus much more customization under Settings for the touchpad and the screen. Phew.A partial list of Apps I uninstalled (but your needs may be different of course):Spotify , WildTangent Games , MyMusicCloud Sync Agent , amazon 1Button App , Pokki Start MenuCyberLink Photo Director (--> Windows 10 comes with a very useful photo editing tool)ZUUS Music Video Player (--> Windows Media Player is decent enough and comes installed with Windows 10)McAfee LiveSafe, McAfee SiteAdvisor (--> instead, I activated Microsoft's built-in 'Windows Defender' as my real time and online security)Disk space (SSD):You end up with about 85GB free after all the above including Disk 'System cleanup' (which removed Windows 8 too).WiDi - Connecting to a wireless display with this laptop was very quick. Within seconds it connected to our TV via the separate ScreenBeam Mini 2 dongle we have attached to the TV.

Hardware is insufficient to smoothly run operating system, loaded with bloatware, and absolutely TRASH keyboard. Spare yourself the trouble.

Great out of the box when I bought this in 2015. I loved it. It was a great little back-up machine to my 2011 Dell (still running strong). But lately the screen is straining to stay bright (even after adjusting it in Settings) and it's slowing down. I fear it is on its last legs and it's just two years old. I expected more. Someone warned me about buying a Toshiba; now I know why.

Judging from all the positive reviews, I must have gotten a lemon. The trackpad is almost unusable. There is a noticeable delay in the response of dragging and scrolling. I updated the driver and still did not work. May be one of the worse machines I've owned!!

Unfortunately this was shipped with a defective WIFI card so could not connect with WIFI only ethernet. It seems like a good little quiet and quick computer otherwise.

The product/laptop computer did not work. I will be sending it back. I am very disappointed.
