It has not been even a week since the Apple Watch announcement, and a designer named UhrArt has already cloned the device's watch face for Android Wear-powered smartwatches.

Taking a dig at the name of the fruity giant, Apple, the designer has named the custom Android Wear watch face as Pear watchface. Both the round and square versions of the cloned watch face is available. However, the circular icons seen on the cloned Pear watchface are just for show and does not function in the Android Wear powered devices.

The Pear watchface (listed on the WearFaces website) comes in round and square variants, and can be installed on the Android Wear-powered smartwatches including Samsung Gear Live, LG G Watch, and Moto 360. Users can also install it via a pack via the Android WearFaces Creator app.

It is worth noting that Apple's Watch OS is designed specifically for the Apple watch, and its interface relies heavily on the dial to the right, known as the digital crown. The home screen has all the apps, arranged in rows like a honeycomb. Users would have to use the dial to zoom in and choose the desired app. The touch screen lets users slide the honeycomb around to see different portions of the app collection. With the Apple Watch, users can even rearrange apps so that their favourite ones are towards the middle.

Sensors on the Apple Watch can detect a wearer's pulse, and the devices tap into motion sensing features in iPhones to provide a "comprehensive picture of activity" and help work toward fitness goals, according to Apple senior vice president of design Jonathan Ive.

Apple watch will start at $349 when it is released early next year, according to Cook. The smartwatch will work with iPhone 5 models and newer.
