Google has partnered app makers to brings Google Now Card support for 70 new third-party apps. These apps are over and above the existing 40 third-party apps with Google Now integration that were initially announced in January.

The search giant has worked with partners to integrate apps such as Circa News, Sleep as Android, Komoot, ABC News, Feedly, Eat24, Allrecipes, Runkeeper, Jawbone, Adidas, OpenTablet, Wunderlist and more. The full list of apps supported by Google Now can be seen on the company's Google Now Integrations page page. Notably, Spotify, TuneIn, and YouTube card functionality has been upgraded to suggest playlists for users.

To enjoy the new Google Now Cards integration across the new apps, users will have to both update their Google aka Google Search app to the latest version, as well as update all the apps they want cards to show up for. After that, they will still have to wait a few weeks to see the integrations.

"Make sure to update to the latest version of the Google app and your other favourite apps that work with this feature - then look out for helpful Now cards from those apps on Android over the next few weeks," said Aparna Chennapragada, Director of Product Management, on the company's Inside Search blog post.

While its good to see Google opening up its Google Now service to more developers to support more number of apps, the promised open Cards API will allow any developer, not just partners to make apps with Google Now integration, and prioritised for the user based on app usage patterns. Google announced the Cards API last month.
