Google on Monday gave its Play Music app total overhaul with smart features which will be powered by Google's machine learning and contextual tools. The brand new Google Play Music app will make its way to Android users globally starting this week alongside iOS and the Web users.

The company says that the new app starting this week will be rolled out to 62 countries, "to be precise". The complete list of markets where revamped Google Play Music will be available can be searched here - the list doesn't include India yet.

With the revamp, Google is bringing its contextual tools which so far provided details to users on other services such as Google Now in form of cards. Google says that the new app will use machine learning to understand what music the user likes based on location, activity, as well as weather. In a Google post, Elias Roman, Lead Product Manager, Google Play Music said, "Building on our commitment to help you find the right music for any moment, today we're introducing the new Google Play Music - a fresh take on our music streaming service that is smarter, easier to use, and much more assistive."

Users in order to get personalised music from Google will have to opt-in to Google's contextual tools which mean Google Play Music will recommend workout music when one enters gym. The new Google Play Music will sport a brand new home screen which will show music based on user preference.

Google says that apart from its machine learning systems, it will also use a team of expert music curators for improved music experience delivered by Google Play Music.

The overhauled Google Play Music will also come with offline features. Once users have subscribed, they will be offered an offline playlist based on what they listened to recently.
