Twitter rolls out updated apps for iOS, Android
Twitter has rolled out updated versions for its Android and iOS apps. Both the updated apps will now be able to show trends from over 100 new locations that were added recently.

In addition to this, users can also use the Discover tab to find out what is trending on Twitter as whole. The basic premise of this feature is to help users better customise the trends that they would like to follow.

The updated iOS app also allows users to invite friends to join Twitter from within the app. In addition to this, the Twitter iOS app version 5.6 also brings in improved playback of Vine videos along with some minor bug fixes.

As of now the Vine app is not available on Android platform and there is no word on when this app will be launched.

The new twitter app for iOS will not only show the replies to retweeted tweets within the app and the person who originally tweeted the message, but the retweeter as well.

The update to Twitter app for Android the seems a relatively minor one. It does bring in some performance enhancements and bug fixes.

The major addition to the updated Twitter app for Android is the addition of Menu button, which allows users quick access to Accounts and Settings. With the help of this menu button one can easily switch between accounts as well.

It is noteworthy, that the Android app for Twitter got a major revamp in terms of user interface earlier this month. The new user interface bears a flat navigation bar and is more in line with Google's Holo design language.
