  • I recommend ninite. com to get all your programs installed
Pugwump (Oct 31, 2016) on Amazon
I've played on this system all weekend and wanted to share my thoughts. This has everything you need included in the package. It's ready to go out of the box with just a few sign ins at set ups. I recommend ninite.com to get all your programs installed. I used this to play World of Warcraft.Display:The 15 inch display is great. I noticed myself adjusting it a lot for light interference from my windows, but I think that's normal for any laptop. it feels much larger. The picture is crystal clear.Graphics:This runs the newest WOW content on the highest settings with no hiccups. I use all the spell effects and everything and the only issue I had was server lag. The laptop keeps up remarkably. It's even better on a step down from Ultra settings.Sound:This has some of the best speakers I've tried on a laptop. I enjoy listening to spotify while I raid, so that was a nice little upgrade. The mic works really well and apparently has ambient noise cancellation as well. No need for a hot headset!Hardware:It took a minute for me to get used to the keyboard since it is a little compact to fit in a full numpad. The power button is a key on the keyboard and my cat turned it off with that once or twice :/ I have not noticed any keypress issues and once I know where my fingers go it's perfect. The lighted keyboard feature is great and so are the extra lights on your WASD keys. Helps you find your place a little easier. The touchpad is responsive but I prefer to use a mouse. My razr installed immediately and works great. There is some bloatware on this but it doesn't affect performance and would be simple enough to remove.I am so pleased with this laptop and would highly recommend it for any gamer.

  • Great laptop for the price!
Morg (Nov 27, 2016) on Amazon
Excellent laptop, ASUS never disappoints. I plan to add a SSD to get even more speed out of it, but I have no complaints as it is with the 1tb 7200rpm HDD. The CPU and GPU are great and I can run all my programs smooth and with some at the highest settings. However, I do recommend getting a cooling pad as it runs a bit hot, but most laptops do. The palm rest is large and although it's a 15.6" laptop, it's almost the same overall size of my 17.3" laptop it is replacing, yet the screen itself is smaller.I can recommend this laptop as it's a great deal for the price, I only wish it came with a SSD.

  • Got it for $899, was totally worth it.
Seth Gossler (Dec 7, 2016) on Amazon
I got this laptop during Black Friday for $899, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with my score. But this laptop is exactly what I was looking for. Can handle Overwatch at top settings (100% scale resolution) at least 70+fps, and Valve's VR testing benchmark says this laptop is more than VR capable.I handles everything I throw at it, and got it at a good price. Whats not to like?Update 4/8/2017This is still going strong, and I've gotten a lot of compliments about this laptop. I've even been able to sneak it into some client meetings for note taking -- no one noticed it was a gaming laptop.

  • Beautiful graphics. Fast processing speed.
Autumn (Dec 6, 2016) on Amazon
This review is from an amateur gamer. The laptop is a bit heavy. The large 15 inch screen has great graphics. The sound quality is good. We also use this laptop to access the internet. The processing speed is fast. Overall, very nice laptop.

  • Great laptop. Works with the VIVE.
Joshua Lamb (Dec 15, 2016) on Amazon
Great laptop. I got the excellent Cyber monday price and still got a partial refund of 50 dollars without asking because it did not have a usb type c! Which I would not want or care about anyway. Product works great with all my games on HTC VIVE and on max settings with most games. I had to bypass the hyc vive cable connector piece though. The usb ports have a problem installing the drivers. I am a computer guy and could not get it to work with the link box. Other than that and wishing it had an SSD drive option I love it. I reinstalled Windows on an SSD myself but loved everything else about it otherwise! Go ASUS.The bad: I use a mouse anyway, but this trackpad is absolutely terrible. Also no SSD but for the price I paid I can not complain. I got a PCIE ssd for windows and a few games either way.

  • Was a great bargain at black friday
    Kutay K (Dec 27, 2016) on Amazon
Was a steal on black friday at 900. Would recommend i7 models like asus gl502 instead, if you are going to buy this laptop above 1100. Great laptop, gtx1060 is about triple times better than 960m. Don't be fooled by memory of graphic card. What actually matters is the speed and performance, rather than memory. For gaming purposes I would totally recommend a laptop with gtx1060 or higher for future proofing. It will worth the price difference in the long run. 200-300 you think you save will end up as upgrading expenses or as an inferior machine at the end.

  • Very happy with my purchase and recommend this laptop over any ...
Carlos Mendieta (Dec 15, 2016) on Amazon
Thus far I've only played Fallout 4, Far Cry 4, League of Legends, Overwatch, and Battlefield 3, and the laptop has run all of them on max (ultra) settings with ease! I haven't experienced any overheating (I've only played for a maximum of ~3 hours at a time) and the battery life has given me more than I previously expected.Very happy with my purchase and recommend this laptop over any other in this price range.

  • Great gaming laptop on a budget
Chad (Dec 12, 2016) on Amazon
Ive had it for a few days and its a beauty.Pros: 1060 gtx for cheaper than some 960 laptops (at the time I grabbed it for $899) 16gb ram makes it nice and snappy 1tb hardrive = decent amt o storage space quad core running nice backlit keys are always a nice plus has a nice sleek finishCons: No optical drive (really not a deal breaker in the age of digital everything) It says it has a usb 3.0 port but none of the ports are blue so its guesswork to see which one is the 3.0 Sleek finish is a fingerprint magnet Does tend to kick off some heat

  • Excellent Performance with beautiful display with Least Heating
PKS (Jan 22, 2017) on Amazon
I dont know why everyone saying about heat and noisy fans, played NFS rivals for 1 hr in ULTRA mod, obviously not putting on lap, and there was no heating, no fan noise. Though sometyms when its in ideal, fan started noise, got hot too but it was from bottom portion and thats too rear end. NOTHING HAPPENS TO PALM/FINGERS's AREA, so gaming is on top notch.and if ur fan got louder, better check in task manager which service getting ur cpu and try to end it. its mainly because of LOTS OF BLOATWARE by ASUS. so if u want to go with out any hickup, better reinstall windows 10 and try to go for PRO, home version having problems. Now back to review1. Excellent performance in this budget(900$), bought on blackfriday, but if u want it now, better go with "used" as many were returned just because of lack of 3.1port, like 3.1 was the main feature of this gaming beast, LOL2.Tried nfs rivals and gta 5 on ultra, super smooth. no heating on keyboard or palm resting area.3. keyboard is very good but keys seems to be not durable, so better use third party keyboard while playing, may be color get vanished in coming time.4. Audio is very loud and clear.5. MOST IMP The DISPLAY, yeah definitely, its TN panel. but as it was advertised by asus having 160 degree wide view angle, yes it is having wide view angle but u cant see from any other angle like from top of screen, down side, it will get black.besides that display is definitely awesome, much brighter unlike TN panel. Colors are perfect but make sure to use nvidia setting in color settings. u wont feel like dull display. definitely having brightness more than 275nits which is close to gl502vm(300) and ideal for gaming but the best in budget.6. camera is just ok, better to avoid.7. its VR ready, app will give u error but it just a notification nothing else.8. Light on keyboard could have better, its not illuminating equally from all keys.9. battery cud have been better, 3.5hr max.10. its actual model no is asus rog gl 502vml, and its drivers are not available on asus website. basically its a lite version of gl502vm with tn display, i5, 3gb vram, no g sync, but u wont notice lack any of these while playing games.11. if u put of ur lap it will definitely feel hot, so better avoid that.In the end if u are die hard gamer who wants everything perfect better go with 702vm or higher, its for gamers who can avoid little bit glitch(lack of g sync)i will update more with some other games.

  • Amazing/Thin/Lite Gaming Laptop...
Corneliu Paunescu (Jan 16, 2017) on Amazon
Awesome laptop. I purchased it as a used laptop for under $900, there was no way I could get a GTX1060 laptop under $900. Love it, the screen is great for games. There is a slight delay during the boot/wake up process which im trying to figure out. I did install a 512GB SSD, and I still see the HD lit up during the wake up process for far too long. It might be the SSD but im not sure yet. I was able to get 540MB read from SSD and 264 write, its a Mushkin I think.Games run amazing, pretty much any game I threw at it worked amazing. Battlefield 4 Battlefield 1 World of Warships, Crysis 3, World of Tanks. The laptop is very very light and very thin, thinner than I expected. Im very amazed by this laptop's thickness, I was able to get those very thin laptop bags, under 1 inch and worked perfect. The battery I was able to game on battery for about 57 mins, everytime.Laptop does get very hot during gaming, but nothing to be alarmed about. This is because I believe the heat spreads out thru the back of the laptop, but the outlets for the fans is half way up and half way down. Because the screen blocks half the heat outlets, part of the heat goes up and part of the heat goes down (in the back of the laptop). So the top of the laptop will get hot, but not the keyboard, just the forward top of the laptop. Nothing to be alarmed about. I played for like 4 hours straight with no issues. All in all, great amazing laptop, trully THIN, VERY THIN, and weights close to nothing. Im very very satisfied with this laptop.

  • Runs Complex Visuals Well
Jerry W. McMillen, Jr. (Sep 16, 2017) on Amazon
I've currently got this sitting in the closet as a Christmas present for my son, but, upon arrival, I did open it up, I stall a few games, and put it through its paces. Visuals are great with no lag. Set up a pretty large battle on Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator on the highest quality settings, and it performed flawlessly. It does get pretty hot, so a cooling device is recommended.

  • BEST LAPTOP FOR THE PRICE.
    Georges M. (Sep 7, 2017) on Amazon
I have to say that a I really love my Laptop so far, yes its a finger print laptop but I dont care about that, the screen is not the best thats for sure but I got it for $886 and thats a great deal for the specs. Can play any game I want on High/Ultra a 40-60 FPS easy. This was a great upgrade from a Dual core 3 gb ram no GPU laptop.Pros:- Fast- Great price for the specs- Great keybord- Good looking laptop (Has some red on it but not that much).- The keyboard looks awesome one red.Cons:- Gets heat up pretty quickly, but you won feel it at all.- Noisy fans. When gaming at ultra or doing some really demanding tasks the fans get really laud but nothing some good musics and headphones cant take away.- Slow HDD, if you can (Maybe I will) add an SDD.THANKS FOR MY LAPTOP ITS AWESOME.

  • I love the texture of the track pad
Hangai (Aug 20, 2017) on Amazon
Have it for a week. Nearly flawless. Only thing that worries me is gpu temp. I have managed it to reach 85C while gaming. HDD is fast enough for me because i have came from a system with only HDD. Keyboard/track pad is decent. I love the texture of the track pad. It gets warm at keyboard's top area but not on the other parts.

  • amazon is the best, and this lappy is the best deal in gaming laptops anywhere.
Jon Snow (Sep 17, 2017) on Amazon
I dont usually write reviews, but the price I pre-ordered was $840, but that one got lost in the hurricane in Houston. I got a second pre-order at $880, arrived 5 days early and amazon gave me a gift cert to cover the cost increase, simply amazing, and why i've been a prime member since 2008. I also but so much from amazon every month its the only option that makes any sense, but they treat me so well, I'll never leave. In a gaming lap top the only thing that matters is the graphics card, and the cooling, but this ones also not cheaply made. to get a GTX1060 for less than $1299 is a steal, you cant even get a 1050ti for $880. I can add in a SSD easily. its also ROG branded in the packaging but only on the lappy wrapper. The best deal ive ever gotten in electronics, hands down. It does cover the rear vents when open, but I do plan on using as a deck top replacement for my girl to game on, and running it closed, connected to a monitor most of the time. I don't think this "flaw" really hurts the cooling that much, if at all. Wish it had windows 7 pro, but that is just me.

  • Cheap GTX 1060 laptop
Dominik Michalek (Aug 27, 2017) on Amazon
Enough thin and light to college, enought powerful to play games. Unfortunaately it's missing SSD little bit, with SSD it could be way much faster and it's TN LCD panel have worse colors and poor watching angles. I like its' design, the shape, colours and backlit keyboard. Touchpad handling is fair, not the best i tried, but comfortable. Ower all i recomand this laptop, its a cheap way to have compact gaming laptop with GTX 1060.

  • Solid Gaming Laptop
John Conner (Dec 7, 2017) on Amazon
'Gaming Laptop' has always been a fallacy for me, but this PC changed my mind.I got the weaker config (6300HQ) in terms of CPU, but this thing is still a beast in games and I got mine slightly used for around $800 shipped to my door. Can play battlegrounds, modded skyrim, GTA V, Shadow of War all at high settings with good (50+ FPS) performance. GTX 1060 really is the sweetspot for 15.6'' laptops, a 1070 would be overkill. The computer is not very flashy but it is relatively lightweight and slick in terms of design. Red LEDs illuminate the keyboard which is a good accent to the black finish. It does get pretty hot but nothing concerning, if you were using this on your lap to game (who does that anyway) it would get pretty toasty. This was a perfect solution for me as I needed a desktop replacement. When typing for extended periods with the laptop keyboard make sure to deactivate the touchpad as its very sensitive and will make your cursor jump around if you even barely graze it. I'm not really used to laptops so this may just be me.The hardware inside isn't done justice by this display, but again minor detail and easy fix by plugging in an external monitor or TV. It isn't that bad but isn't that good either.Would definitely reccomend this PC at MSRP. You won't be disappointed.

Very good product for its price. You don't see any gaming laptop with a GTX 1060 at this low of a price. Its fans may be loud, but if you use headphones while gaming, it shouldn't be a problem at all. At the end of the day, it's about what the laptop can do, not how it looks. Stellar review for this machine.

  • My Dream of Laptop
Islam (Oct 20, 2017) on Amazon
This is by far the best piece of technology I have ever laid my hands on. The laptop is insanely powerful. Personally I do a lot of gaming, and this one handled anything I thrown at it on ultra settings without feeling any heat or noise coming from the laptop. The price was like a lifetime opportunity, I have searched for months for gaming laptops, but they were all overpriced, but this one... no words can describe it. It is an amazing laptop, outstanding performance, and incredible technology.
