Everything You Use, Already Works on Snapdragon X Series Platforms

Written by Brand Story | Updated: 3 April 2026 09:53 IST

You're on a video call that's running longer than expected. A browser tab is open with notes. Another with a document you're editing. Music is playing in the background. You're chatting with a friend on WhatsApp. It's a normal workday. Then it happens. The battery warning shows up.

You scramble for a charger. Or worse, you start closing apps, hoping the laptop holds on long enough. This has been the trade-off for years. Performance or battery. You pick one and compromise on the other. With Snapdragon X Series platforms, you don't have to make that choice anymore.

Even when battery and performance are sorted, one question still comes up. Will the apps you use every day work the way you expect? That used to be a fair concern. Today, it matters far less than many people think.

The Question Everyone Still Asks

It's a fair question. Your work and your routine depend on them. You don't want surprises after switching devices. This is where a lot of people still hesitate with newer platforms like Snapdragon X Series laptops. There's a lingering belief that app compatibility might be limited. But that's not the case.

Look at how you actually use your laptop. You open Microsoft Word or Excel. You jump into a Teams or Zoom call. You browse on Chrome. You store and share files on Google Drive. If you're creating, you might use Photoshop or Lightroom. If you're chilling out, it's Spotify, YouTube, or Netflix.

These aren't extreme cases. This is daily life. And these apps already run smoothly on Snapdragon X Series laptops. In fact, most of what you do every day is already covered. Data shows that people spend over 93 percent of their time on apps that are available natively on these devices.

It's Not Just Compatibility. It's How Well They Run

There's a difference between an app running and an app running well. Snapdragon X Series laptops focus on both. Take everyday tasks. Video calls, web browsing, working on documents. These are not heavy workloads, but they happen all day. On many laptops, performance dips when you're on battery. Things slow down to save power.

Here, that doesn't happen. Performance stays steady even when you unplug.  So your apps feel consistent whether you're at your desk or on the move.

And for apps that use AI features, things go a step further. Many of them are optimised to run directly on the device using the built-in Hexagon NPU. In tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, this helps speed up editing and effects, while apps like Zoom can handle features like background blur more efficiently. The result is faster performance without draining your battery.

That could mean using features like Cocreator in Paint to generate images. Or using Recall to quickly find files, apps or any specific data. AI-powered background effects in apps like Teams run smoothly without slowing things down. These aren't future features. They're already part of the experience. And because they run on-device, they're faster and more responsive.

At the same time, they use less power for these everyday tasks. That means longer battery life without forcing you to compromise on speed.

The App Ecosystem Is Growing Fast

Another concern people have is about the future. “Okay, my apps work today. What about tomorrow?”

That's where things get interesting. The number of native apps for Snapdragon-powered Windows devices has grown rapidly over the past year. Development has increased three times, with more companies actively building for this platform.

This includes not just productivity tools, but also creative software, security apps, VPNs, and cloud services. You're not stepping into a limited ecosystem. You're stepping into one that's expanding. And it's expanding in the areas people actually care about.

Let's get specific. If you're editing photos or designing, tools like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects are part of your workflow. These run on Snapdragon X Series laptops.

If your work involves video, tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Vegas Pro are now supported as well. If you're into video or streaming, apps like OBS Studio and YouTube are already there.

For everyday work, tools like Slack and Notion fit right in alongside what you already use. And If your break involves Spotify playlists or Netflix, those are there too. Even gaming is part of the picture, with over a thousand titles available.

This isn't a narrow set of apps. It's a full spectrum of how people use their laptops today.

What's Changed, And Why It Matters

The biggest change with Snapdragon X Series platforms isn't something you notice in a benchmark. It's what doesn't happen. You don't think about battery anxiety as much. You don't worry about whether an app will open. You don't adjust your usage based on whether you're plugged in. You just use your laptop the way you expect to.

Snapdragon X Series platforms are built around how people actually use their devices today. The apps you rely on are already supported. They not only run better, but are also more feature-rich.

If you've been holding back because you weren't sure what would work, it's worth taking another look. And once you see that for yourself, the question changes. It's no longer, “Will my apps work?” It becomes, “Why was I waiting?”
