About The Lives of Others Movie (2008)

In 1984 in East Berlin, agent Gerd Wiesler (Ulrich Mühe) obtains permission to conduct surveillance on a writer (Sebastian Koch) and his lover Christa-Maria (Martina Gedeck). He quickly becomes entangled in their lives and faces conflicting loyalties as his superior falls in love with Christa-Maria, and orders Wiesler to get the writer out of the way.
