  • PS Now is the gaming equivalent of Netflix
  • It is coming to PC soon
  • You will need a 5Mbps Internet connection to use it

According to a leak on the official PlayStation Europe website, PlayStation Now - Sony's game streaming service is coming to the PC.

Certain images on the latest post on the site contain the words "PS Now on PC Announce Post by PlayStation Europe, on Flickr" when you hover the mouse over them. The news comes via industry tipster Wario64.

This comes weeks after French game blog Gamekult claimed that Sony will be bringing the service to the PC. Gamekult stated you'd need a computer running Windows 7, an Internet connection with at least 5Mbps and "preferably a DualShock 4" which could mean DualShock 3 or perhaps third-party controllers may be supported by PS Now.

We won't be surprised if this was an announcement for Sony's long-rumoured September PlayStation event, where the company is expected to launch a mid-cycle upgrade for the PS4 known as the PS4 Neo. Though it's more likely a goof up from PlayStation Europe that revealed it early.

The event or PlayStation Meeting as it's called is slated for September 7 at 3pm ET in New York City, which will be September 8 at 12:30am here in India. Incidentally, the Japanese electronics giant had also chosen NYC as the place to showcase the original PS4 back in 2013.

The addition of PC along with the PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and select smart TVs make PS Now a compelling alternative to backwards compatibility. With a large number of games available including newer fare like Proteus and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments make it one of the more comprehensive ways to stream games if that's your method of choice.

While Sony has not announced plans to launch the service in markets like India, it has been rumoured that the company had been making enquiries into the feasibility of such an endeavour in the past. Needless to say, until the Internet infrastructure catches up, it's a far cry from reality.
