Gioneeās portfolio continues to expand with its latest instalment called the S6 Pro. The company first debuted the S6 in India back in February, and has been iterating on it ever since. We recently reviewed the S6s, which is a version of the S6 that focused primarily on selfies. The new S6 Pro is also a āselfie-focusedā smartphone but with more power under the hood.
Both the Gionee S6 and Gionee S6s were pretty average offerings, with the only consistent positives being their battery life and build quality. Also, considering these phones were priced little above Rs. 15,000, we werenāt expecting great results either. However, the S6 Pro is priced in the upper mid-range segment at Rs. 23,999, which puts it in direct competition with the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 5 (Review), Moto Z Play (Review), HTC One A9 (Review), and Asus Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL). Is the S6 Pro worth the premium it commands? Letās find out.
Gionee S6 Pro Summary
The Gionee S6 Pro is yet another iteration of the S6, with the main focus being the selfie flash and better performance. The new phone sports and all-metal body with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. There's a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone also sports a 3130mAh battery which provides all-day battery life. The performance of both the 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera is below average most of the time. App performance is good but not great. Overall, at Rs. 23,999, the phone feels a bit on the expensive side, especially when there are much better alternatives out there.

Gionee S6PRO Super slow phoneSenthil Nadar (Aug 30, 2017) on Gadgets 360It's not a good phone in terms of speed and performance. It'sā€‹ 4gb ram but works like a 1gb ram phone. I have had bad Experience with it and have submitted my phone twice to the service center. Their service is also very slow and the phone is a problematic device....Is this review helpful?
