After looking through countless specials and laptop listings, i eventually came across this laptop. Spec-wise, this notebook is absolutely incredible and is very impressive. It performs better than expected.The monitor is amazing and there is little glare, the refresh rate is amazing, the keyboard feels amazing (coming from using mechanical keyboards), the performance is amazing, the size and weight is perfect, the whole laptop is just amazing (not to mention how much better this notebook is compared to other devices in this price range).Nearly everything about this laptop is a pro. The only con i could think of was the defaulted wonky touchpad drivers, but i was easily able to install windows precision trackpad drivers and works beautifully.All in all, i have, and will continue, to recommend this laptop to anyone i can and i truly feel this laptop is more than reasonably priced and can easily take any game i throw at it with ease.

This is for the 32gig/ 1060 version of this machine.I overall love this laptop. It can candle 1080p gaming perfectly fine. If you play and stream and want multiple tabs open the ram eat through that with ease. To be honest the bottleneck on this rig is the CPU, but its not a deal breaker.CPU: The 8th gen 6 cores and 12 threads are fantastic. Cant complain.Ram: I have the 32gig version. I really don't need to say anything more. It is 32gigs of ram.GPU: The 1060 seems to be a sweet spot for laptop gaming at the moment with performance versus heat.Screen: I love the screen. It is well over 300 nits and has great color accuracy. Very good for gaming and content creation.Sound: I don't care what anyone says you do not buy a laptop for its sound quality. Go with headphones or external speakers for any laptop.Keyboard: I like the zoned LED colors. It is fun to play around with for sure. Keys are good, not great but good. To me they feel a tad mushy and there is something weird with the space bar. It is not a deal breaker but it is there.Build quality: It is plastic but built well. The only to be weary of is the bottom( base) of the laptop. The plastic is very thin. I was so surprised coming from MSI too. It is very flimsy and be careful if you remove it for upgrade work. The little red plastic accent strip will break so easy.Overall I am happy with this set up. It will server me for many years.

not sure why the support is cut off, said 3 years or something when i bought it. regardless, i am trying to install a raid 0+1 and i can not find the raid utility in the bios. i also noticed when i installed the hardware that the SATA port next to my 2nd pcie x4 slot was not affixed to the motherboard. this is a great system with a lot of potential. i bought the parts that i intend to upgrade it with and fully utilize the capabilities of this product, however am having difficulty finding the information i require in order to do so. do the msata and pcie ports located next to eachother on the left hand side of the board share the same pcie bus? i doubt it. so i must assume that my slot was just not attached during the manufacturing process, and if it were i would be able to install an nvme m.2 raid 0 and run my os off the intial nvme drive installed in the msata port leaving the 3.5" sata bay/drive open for +1, recovery or data storage. i wish i would have opened this thing up when i got it.

Awful machine. MSI do make good products, but this definitely isn?t one of them. Horrendous battery life and heavy.

Spent a few months doing research on the right gaming laptop for me. I had a budget, and also wanted one that fit my needs as I?m not a heavy gamer. This laptop to me is a upper-mid or low high tier laptop that is well priced for everything you receive. I added on some storage, but overall very please with the quality of MSI product as well as the company who sold it to me who completed the upgrades. I?ve had the product for about 2 months now so have given it time before writing this. I recommend this laptop if it fits your needs and budget.

This machine is absolutely amazing. It runs so fast, and with the SSD, it boots within 10-15 seconds or less every time. Awesome display. Graphics CPU runs everything I can throw at it.One of the best purchases I ever made.

Looked around for a lot of gaming laptops. From acer to hp to Alienware to asus to razer. There is not perfect laptop until you spend over $2000. Acer and hp have pathetic cooling. Returned them within a week to bestbuy. And gtx 1050 ti doesn?t do the job. Razer is beautiful laptop but doesn?t offer good features until you spend over $2000. After lot of research I found computer upgrade king. Who knows what gamers be looking for. They gave me a perfect deal. $1200 for i7 , 16gb ram, 500 gb sata ssd and a gtx 1060 6gb ram. Initially after playing pubg for 3 hours straight my cpu temperature reached 97 degree Celsius. Then I researched a bit and undervolted my cpu to -160mv. Last night I played 7 hours straight. With cpu temp to max 84 degree Celsius. With just a little bit lag in the vikendi map cause that map is huge. But thanks to the thermal cooling layout of msi which does the perfect job. Thank you ?computer upgrade king? and also whoever says msi is cheap quality. My laptop is all metal and has a very beautiful msi logo 😎. And who ever experiences a mouse lag specially when you right click it?s not msi fault. It?s windows issue. You have to use a few commands and regedit editing to fix it.

Needed graphics and CPU power for 3d scanning app requiring cuda cores - this worked great.

This laptop has been absolutly fantastic. I've owned it for several months now, and I've taken to using it over my built desktop PC. The specs are absolutly outragous for the price point, and it runs everything from CAD simulations to 4k video editing to GTA V like a champ. Only (very minor) things to gripe about are: no thunder bolt port, red LEDs in Usb ports cannot be turned off, track pad acts up occasionally, small plastic peice that covers hinge broke very easily but is only asthetic, and the surfaces faintly show finger prints. Also battery life is quite poor, I'd estimate 1 hour of intensive processing (cad, video editing, large hq games) and 2.5 to 3 hours of general use with the RGB effects off. This is to be expected of a laptop with specs like this though, i've never used a Cad station or gaming computer that could do much better than that.Ultimatly if battery life is of very high importance to you look for extendable battery slots or lower speced computers, if performance per dollar is what you're after, this deal is absolutly unbeatable. I probably did between 40 to 60 hours of research, you won't find better.

I waited a little bit to review my new laptop and now feel confident in saying that it is pretty awesome!I had one issue the second week I had it, and ended up reloading a fresh version of Windows on it because that's how the technician from CUK thought we'd best remedy the problem. This wasn't an issue since I really hadn't had time to load anything on it and the hard drive was bare. I just called in and the people at CUK were so friendly and helpful with my problem I knew I'd made a great choice in purchasing this machine from them. (Let's face it, you can purchase a laptop from anywhere, but when you have to make appointments and wait in line for service in a mall, it's not so convenient.)I really needed a Windows machine with guts to do my day trading and this one had the specs I was searching for. I'd heard really good things about MSI, but hadn't tried on yet, so after a little research, I settled on this model due to it's upgraded RAM and drive specs. I'm definitely not sorry! I'm running it with 4 large monitors, trading on several brokerage platforms simultaneously and haven't lost a beat with this machine. It is performing beautifully!It's also a cosmetic thing, but the rainbow keyboard lights are a cool touch. I like them not only because they look awesome, but they let me know if the computer is awake, asleep, or in the process of waking up. Pretty cool.Overall, I'd recommend you try this machine if you need power and the Windows platform. A+++ Service from CUK and MSI. Thanks!!

Only complaint I have is not knowing about the 3rd hard drive slot. But other then that excellent computer!

awesome gaming .laptop

The nb has been everything I expected. It's super responsive and fast, while gaming it wont let you down with the fps you need. Ofcourse with it's slender width for a 17" pc it has it's heating issues besides the 120 hz monitor it has to support but with a proper cooling pad you'll be fine for a solid 6 hour gaming session before giving it a necessary break. Overall i'd give it a 4.8 out of 5

This machine is a beast. The power and speed are really incredible to me. Yes, mine had the backlight bleeding as well. That doesn't really bother me, even if it had stayed but it didn't! Within a couple of weeks of regular use the backlight bleed has almost gone away in the one spot it was the brightest. The screen looks great even with the bleed though and mine only had it noticeably in one corner, which has now gone away. This is my fourth ASUS ROG laptop and I highly recommend them to any gamer. CUK USA did a great job with the upgrades too, couldn't even tell they had messed with it, which means they did their job right.

It's ok. Only problem is when it goes to sleep it won't wake up properly. Other than that, no problem.

Very fast processing speed, good brightness on screen, excellent computer overall.
