BlackBerry recently launched its flagship QWERTY smartphone BlackBerry Q10 in India. In order to boost the sales of this smartphone, the company has now collaborated with American Express to offer a gift card worth Rs. 5,000 on purchase of every BlackBerry Q10.

"We are going to start an offer for American Express Card customers buying Blackberry Q10 from June 12. Under this we will give them a gift card worth Rs 5,000 which they can use to buy any product at any store across country and even online that accepts Amex card," says BlackBerry India's Marketing Director Ashish Gupta.

This offer is valid from June 12 to July 3, 2013. The American Express Gift Card is accepted at over 100,000 locations in India and can be redeemed to purchase any product or service.

This is the first promotional offer that Blackberry has come up with for its high-end BlackBerry Q10 smartphone. This smartphone is available in the market for Rs. 44,990. The Canadian smartphone maker is also running monthly instalment schemes for some of its other popular smartphones.

In the recent few months, we have seen leading smartphones to adopt aggressive marketing plans to promote their devices. In the month of March, Apple had launched a cash back scheme for its iPhone 4. The scheme became so popular that it helped the company in registering over 400 percent growth in India. Currently Samsung is running a Rs. 10,000 cash back scheme on purchase of Galaxy Note II. BlackBerry, on its part, is yet to announce any such buy back scheme.
