Byond launches B51 and B54 dual-SIM Android 2.3 smartphones

Indian device manufacturer Byond, has launched two new dual-SIM budget Android smartphones, the B51 and B54 priced at Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 5,799 respectively.

Both phones feature more or less, the same specs except for the difference in screen sizes. The B51 sports a 3.5-inch HVGA screen while the B54 comes with a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touch display. Both come with Android Gingerbread (v2.3.6).

They also feature 3-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, a 1GHz processor with 256MB RAM, a 1,500 mAh battery, FM Radio and dual-SIM support. The B54 comes with 4GB of preloaded content and both phones have external expansion support up to 32GB.

Connectivity wise, they are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled and while the B51 features regional language support, the B54 has multi-language support.

The B51 would be competing with the likes of the Micromax A57 Ninja 3 also priced at Rs. 4,999 that was launched in August last year and the more recently launched Intex Aqua Trendy priced at Rs. 4,900. The Byond B54 on the other hand, would stand against the A87 Ninja 4 from Micromax carrying a price tag of Rs. 5,999.

Byond recently launched the B63 dual-SIM smartphone running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Rs. 12,499. It comes with a 4.5 inch qHD (960x540) TFT capacitive touch display, an 8-megapixel HD autofocus rear camera and a VGA front camera as well.

Internally, the B63 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage with external expansion support upto 32GB via microSD card. The device boasts connectivity options like Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and comes with a 2,000mAh battery. The dual-SIM smartphone is available in black and white colour variants.

Prior to this, it launched the 6-inch Phablet PIII priced at Rs. 14,999. Some features include Android 4.0, 8-megapixel rear and VGA front-facing cameras, 1GHz dual-core processor and a 2,500mAh battery.
