Honor 9 With Dual Rear Cameras, Huawei Pay Launched

Huawei's Honor brand has unveiled the Honor 9 smartphone in China. The new handset from Honor will go on sale online in China from Friday, and will be available via Vmall, JD.com, Tmall.com, and other websites. The all-new Honor 9 has been launched in three variants: 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage priced at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 22,000), 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage priced at CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs. 26,000), and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 28,500).

Huawei also announced the company's brand new Huawei Pay payment solution from the company. At the launch event in China, Huawei said that the Honor 9 supports Huawei Pay out-of-the-box.

One of the biggest attractions of the new Honor 9 is its dual camera at the back. It sports 20-megapixel sensor (for monochrome) alongside a 12-megapixel sensor (for RGB) with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and two-tone LED flash. There's also an 8-megapixel front camera on board. The rear camera supports 4K video recording while the front camera supports up to full-HD video recording.

The Honor 9 packs a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) LTPS display with 428ppi pixel density. The smartphone is powered by Huawei's own Kirin 960 processor with four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four additional cores at 1.8GHz. The dual-SIM Honor 9 supports both Nano-SIMs and runs on Huawei EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone includes hybrid SIM slot and supports external storage via microSD card (up to 256GB). The Honor 9 packs a 3200mAh non-removable battery and comes with a USB Type-C port. It measures 147.3x70.9x7.45mm and weighs 155 grams. Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, and GPRS/ EDGE. The Honor 9 will be available in Amber Gold, Black, and Blue colours.
