Micromax on Friday launched two entry-level 3G-enabled Android smartphones in the country, the Bolt Supreme, and the Bolt Supreme 2. The Indian mobile brand in a press statement said the two devices are meant for first-time smartphone users, and will be available via retail stores.

The dual-SIM Micromax Bolt Supreme runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and features a 3.5-inch display (resolution unspecified). It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor that's coupled with 512MB of RAM. It bears a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash, and a VGA (0.3-megapixel) front-facing camera. It comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It offers 3G connectivity, one of the highlights of the smartphone at this price point. It is powered by a 1200mAh battery and will be available in Champagne White, and Grey and Black dual-tone colour variants.

Commenting on the launch, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics said "We are extremely proud to shatter another performance-price barrier by launching the Micromax Bolt Supreme range - quad-core chipset based smartphones below Rs. 3,000. We believe that the first time smartphone buyers will fuel the growth of the category. It is imperative we give them a fantastic first time experience - in performance, connectivity, screen quality and battery life. The Micromax Bolt Supreme smartphones combine all these benefits in one and at super-affordable price points."
