Another render of a new Motorola Android smartphone, supposedly the Motorola X phone has surfaced online. Mobile phones focused website, GSM Arena, claims to have received the render with a short description of the specifications, from a person close to  the team working on the X Phone. However, there is no way to verify the sender's claim and identity, and whether the image is fake or genuine.

The render shows a Motorola phone that looks very futuristic, featuring what appears to be a curved screen with no bezel, and a thin frame, with a camera lens and sensors towards the top, just fitting in. The UI appears to be stock Android but there are some new widgets for time, weather and battery status.

According to the tipster, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset and will sport a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 768x1280 pixels. It will have a 4000 mAh battery and will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a few customisations done by Motorola. The tipster also suggests that the phone will be IP57 certified (water resistant) and feature a Gorilla Glass 3 screen, and that it won't have expandable memory.

Just a day back, PhoneArena had also claimed to have received a tip about the X Phone's specifications. PhoneArena's tipster had suggested a 4.8-inch screen of unknown resolution with sapphire glass for protection. A 2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a 4000 mAh battery was also indicated.

There have been a lot of rumours surrounding the X Phone. A report by AndroidAndMe had speculated that the X Phone might be a sub-brand and approach that includes user-defined configurations for colour, storage capacity, ringtones, apps and more, after Guy Kawasaki, who recently joined Motorola, had posted a video on his Google+ page about customisable cars and posted, "Wouldn't it be great if you could personalise your phone like this?"

There have also been news reports in the past suggesting that the Motorola X smartphone might be the first smartphone to run on the next version of Android, Key Lime Pie.
