Google Pixel 2 Pre-Orders Open in India With Rs. 8,000 Cashback and More on Flipkart

Pixel 2 XL release date in India is expected to be November 15

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL pre-bookings are now open in India, with the smartphones available online exclusively via Flipkart, while, according to Google, offline buyers can head to over 1,000 retail stores to reserve a unit. The Google Pixel 2 will start shipping on November 1, while the larger Pixel 2 XL will be delivered starting November 15. For those who pre-order Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in India from its platform, Flipkart has announced several offers, including cashbacks and freebies, while other retailers have also announced similar pre-order offers.

 

Google Pixel 2 price in India

Google Pixel 2 price in India starts at Rs. 61,000 for the 64GB model, which is slightly below the price of iPhone 8 base variant which comes at Rs. 64,000. The Pixel 2 XL starts at Rs. 73,000 for the 64GB storage option which is equivalent to the price tag of base variant of the iPhone 8 Plus. The 128GB variants of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are priced at Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 82,000, respectively.

Google Pixel 2 pre-order offers
Flipkart has announced some exclusive pre-order offers on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones which include Rs. 8,000 cashback on EMI transactions done with HDFC Bank credit cards, and a free Sennheiser Headset worth Rs. 11,990. Apart from this, the e-commerce titan is giving 50 percent buyback value when you want to upgrade the Pixel. Buyers will also get extra Rs. 5,000 off on exchange of select phone models, and no cost EMI starting at Rs. 3,389 per month. Additionally, Flipkart has also announced it will give away the Google Daydream View 2 headset to five selected winners of the social media contest run on Facebook which ends on Tuesday.

Google in another release detailed offers for offline pre-orders, available at such participating offline retail partners as Reliance Digital and Croma. Here, those who pre-order the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL before October 31 will get a free pair of Sennheiser Bluetooth earphones worth Rs. 11,990; no-cost EMI plans starting at Rs. 3,389 per month; Rs. 8,000 cashback on HDFC Bank credit cards (EMI transactions only), and, up to 120GB additional Airtel data for 6 months.

Finally, Reliance Jio subscribers get overall benefits of Rs. 14,999, Google said in its release. This includes 1 year of unlimited voice, data (750GB), SMS, and Jio applications worth Rs. 9,999 at no cost, Rs. 5,000 additional exchange bonus at Reliance Digital stores.

Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 specifications

The Pixel 2 features a 5-inch Cinematic 127-mm full-HD (1080x1920) display, while the Pixel 2 XL features a 6-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440) P-OLED at 538ppi with 18:9 ratio. Both the displays also come equipped with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Neither of the handsets have the 3.5mm headphone jack, so there is that you should keep in mind before you place the order. It wasn't immediately clear how soon customers in India will be able to place an order for either of the smartphones.

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and 4GB of RAM. The handsets come in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The Pixel 2 has a 2700mAh battery, while the Pixel 2 XL has a 3520mAh battery. On the photography front, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL offer the industry-best camera sensors. Both the phones house a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and optical and electronic image stabilisation. The front facing 8-megapixel camera has an aperture of f/2.4.
