Following the announcement earlier this year, Samsung on Monday has launched the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G in India at Rs. 11,100. The 4G variant of the smartphone was unveiled alongside the Galaxy Core Prime 4G and Galaxy J1 4G in February, and at the time, Samsung had said the smartphones will start hitting shelves in India from the second week of March.

It does seem as if Samsung got significantly delayed however, with the first of the three smartphones only hitting shelves in India in June - the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G. The Samsung Galaxy J1 4G has not yet been launched in India yet either. The company says with the launch of the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G in India, Samsung now has 14 4G LTE-capable models in the country.

The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is nearly identical to the 3G variant of the smartphone, which was launched back in September last year, except it includes 4G LTE connectivity. The phone supports both Band 3 and Band 40, which means it's compatible with 4G networks being deployed in India right now. It also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, instead of Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Galaxy Grand Prime includes 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support (up to 64GB). On the connectivity front the smartphone includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS and 3G. The smartphone features a 2600mAh battery that's rated to deliver up to 14 hours of talk time. It measures 144.8x72.1x8.6mm and weighs 156 grams. It will be available in White, Grey, and Gold colour variants.
