  • Price of the Galaxy On6 is expected to be around Rs. 15,000

Samsung Galaxy On6, the company's rumoured next smartphone in its mid-range On series, is all expected to launch in India today, exclusively via Flipkart. The Samsung Galaxy On6 had been tipped in a couple of reports citing industry sources recently, and Flipkart began teasing the launch of a Samsung smartphone earlier this week, setting a launch date of 12:30pm IST on July 2. While not much is known around the handset, official teaser videos suggest the Galaxy On6 might get a fullscreen display, possibly Samsung's Infinity Super AMOLED Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Samsung has apparently roped in Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff to be the brand ambassador of the Galaxy On6.

One of these short teasers shows the rear camera, which appears to have a single sensor, with an LED flash. Additionally, there is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the smartphone. Earlier this week, IANS sources had claimed that the Samsung Galaxy On6 may cost Rs. 15,000 for the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. Samsung is expected to announce cashback offers at launch.

Apart from that, the sources also reveal that the mid-range smartphone might sport an Infinity Display panel, run on one of Samsung's Exynos SoCs, and have the latest Chat on Video that allows users to use the Messages and WhatsApp apps while watching a video on the stock Videos app or on YouTube. The Samsung Mall app is also expected to be part of the package.

Samsung back in May launched four new smartphones in the Indian market - namely, the Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8, Galaxy A6, and Galaxy A6+. All of these models sport the Infinity Super AMOLED Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy J6 and Galaxy A6 run on Samsung Exynos SoCs, while the other two are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon range of chipsets. All of these smartphones run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
